That sounds lovely tbh! My holidays are much more active these days since my two sisters have children. It's fun but overwhelming and I'm often relieved by the end of it to go home to some peace & quiet. (I'm a boomer)

How old are you may I ask? I still feel under my parents rule sometimes and I'm 35. Good luck with your extended family. Do you try to stay out of it if they bring up politics or do you fight with them?

Haha, that doesn't sound very fun to me! I'd probably not visit family if it was an exhausting endeavor. But maybe I'm just selfish haha.

I'm 32. It's an awkward feeling to be sure, which is why I'm glad they live in another state now. Thanks, but luckily my extended family are all off doing their own Christmas thing. If we did a huge get-together I'd bail. I just try to steer the conversation away. They haven't gone full nutso or anything watching Fox News, but it definitely does affect how they look at some things going on in the world. Good luck with your husband's family!

 

my apartment has no Christmas decorations at all or just anything in general it’s super generic so I just love having an excuse to go to my parents house because it feels like Christmas over there and it’s so great.

I’ve started to notice that now that I moved out of my parent’s house I have become more of a homebody.

I used to always love going out and hanging with friends but now it’s just like ugh I’m trying to make excuses just to stay in my room. I think the only time I want to hang is if I want them to go with me to get food.

Most folks didnt like it, which is completely fine, it wasnt my favorite, but i enjoyed it for what it was, and the bickering over what was good what was bad and whos right and whos wrong and who knows star wars more is just exhausting to read and participate in.
