For children or not, it’s (meaning all children’s movies and not just SW) still a story being told. And in the case of Star Wars, it’s lazy storytelling. The excuse of “oh, well, it’s a kids movie, what do you expect?” doesn’t work for me when there are so many amazing children’s films out there.

Star Wars is no worse than most kids films in storytelling

I saw I followed a YouTuber that made an everything wrong with the new Star Wars movie with the length being 2 and a half hours and I immediately unfollowed him because what a waste of time.

I agree. Because most studios think kids are dumb so they’ll pump out garbage. But kids aren’t dumb and I think companies like Studio Ghibli understand this which is why they are willing to put out challenging movies for kids. All I’m saying is kids movies deserve to be criticized. Maybe the level of criticism and weight that Star Wars holds is ridiculous but it’s ok to pick these movies apart imo
