EXACTLY. The worst thing too is I’m a manager so like, I don’t do this to my employees so why is it ok for my higher ups to do it to me? It’s for stupid shit too. I live by the beach here in NC so our spring season starts really early, so we’re trying to get set up. One of my bosses wanted me to set up 3 bays so we could put some assembled grills under them that way customers can just grab one already assembled and check out. He told me this like 3 hours before we closed last night. I got a decent start on it but couldn’t finish and now they’re like “hey Kenny I know you’re on vacation but can you call up here and tell your guys how to do x and y, actually it might be best if you just come in for a bit” NO

 

the restaurant my wife works at, is not ever open on Tuesdays. It's the one day they're closed. She also, because of her teaching schedule, has no availability on weekdays, only weekends. The restaurant decided to open on NYE, and put all their servers on, without giving anyone any advanced notice that they'd be operating on a day they normally do not, to maybe see if people will be around??, and expects everyone to work. on New Years Eve. So not only are they scheduling people on a day they are normally CLOSED, but it's a day she wouldn't work ANYWAY because of her availability. It's infuriating to me.

ugh she wanted to, we both did, but unfortunately every dollar counts right now. she got a leave replacment job at her school so she'll be getting paid way better in the next month or so and will be able to quit the restaurant, but it's just such a fucked situation. how hard would it be to just send out a text or have a meeting and say hey we're thinking of opening on NYE, is anyone around? argh

 

I hope either she doesn't end up having to work or she finds a new place to work because fuck that

Yeah, landlords will make you sign a bunch of documents and then try to f*ck you out of money at the end of your lease yet they don't follow any of the rules they signed, haha. Like, they will show up out of nowhere even though they're required to give you 48 hours notice.

I’m just curious what they are haha. Prob over 30 sick days I’d guess.

 

Somehow the system we use says I have -1 day of sick time and I'm just like...idk how that even happens when I only took the 5 I was allowed this year, and if they paid me for another that's their fucking problem cause I was tracking my days and didn't go over.
