Ugh I just financed 3k into my stupid mouth and finally got health insurance so I gotta tighten tf up on my gaming purchases now :(

but that sucks im sorry man. i get my impacted wisdom teeth out on February 28th and im dreading it every hour on the hour basically but at least its fully covered

Haha I know! I've been just digging into my backlog and I will be very okay.

Yeah idk if you've seen me talking about it but I had to get a root canal last week, first time i been to the dentist in about 13 years and it was my biggest fear by far in life. It went very well and I don't have 5 headaches a day anymore so I feel very good about it now. I was terrified to go last week though, so happy its over and went well. Just need to get permanent caps put in a couple weeks from now

that sucks, how bad did it hurt? that's like the worst tooth thing if figures of speech are to be believed. my wisdom teeth are the result of going ten years without a dentist visit myself. had six cavities filled over three visits and now this and im good after that. ive only really taken dental hygiene seriously the last few years and my teeth are at least visibly fine so i got away pretty well all things considered

Got my wisdom teeth removed about a year ago (at age 35 after not seeing a dentist for about a decade) - It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and I'm glad I did it.

The worst part was not being able to smoke weed while recovering, but I quickly put some ingenuity to work and made a gravity bong and then things were A-OK.

 

So a piece of my tooth fell out about 4 months ago, i've been dealing with nerve pain from it since then and it was absolutely brutal. If I had anything cold I would get a painful sensation all throughout my head and would just have to tough it out. Aside from that I would get a bad headache at least 4 times a day. It was absolutely miserable. I was so ashamed and afraid to get it fixed that I just told myself it will go away eventually and then two weekends ago it was so unbearable I just had a moment where I was like, 'okay i need to fucking do something' and then three days later I got it fixed.

The actual root canal could not of been smoother or more painless. My dentist (who had incredible google reviews) was as good as it gets. I couldn't even tell when he was putting in the novocaine which blew me away.

 

The pain from the removal itself was a little uncomfortable, but it didn't take very long and wasn't at all what I had made it up in my head to be.

I was sore for a pretty good time after (2-3 weeks) but I also had the 4 wisdom teeth and another tooth pulled all at once. It wasn't really painful though, just sore... I was just taking a bunch of ibuprofen for a few weeks which I don't really like taking pills, but it made it manageable.

DEFINITELY 100000000% less pain that what I was dealing with prior to getting the teeth pulled (one of them HAD to go)

 

Man I thought being 31 meant I was out of the woods for ever needing my wisdom teeth out but doesn't seem like it lol

I also haven't been to a dentist in years so who knows what's going on but no dental insurance so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I made a weed carrot cake when I had my tonsils removed and that was a treat.

 

Don't fear dental work. Fear the pain if you leave necessary dental work undone.
