I'm not a war movie fan, but I didn't mind Dunkirk. The cinematography was too beautiful.

 

I honestly would love to watch how they made this.

i love thin red line but if someone thinks war movies are boring a three hour long terrence malick flick isn't going to change their mind

I don't think they're all bad or anything. It's more that they're all too long and loud and I can't relate to the characters a lot of the time

accurate most of the time. one of the best parts of dunkirk is that it's only like 100 minutes long.

Personally, I enjoy war movies for the technical aspects versus the stories. That said, the story has to at least be somewhat interesting or I lose interest in it.

 

Too many war movies glorify it, but the ones that show the real aftermath and cost for everyone involved can be great.

Overlord was a pretty good war movie if that counts
