I have a stationary bike that I bought at a used sporting goods store for $100. It's old, but it works perfectly and it has a giant fan that cools you off as your pedal.

If you're not going to take the Pelaton classes, no reason to spend $2k on their bike.

Also, I haven't looked, but I'm sure there are (probably inferior, but still) videos on YouTube that simulate classes or whatever Pelaton is doing.

 

I never learned to ride a bike because it's too anxiety provoking, I can do a reclining bike

I don’t have the space for one now but I really enjoyed using one when I did. It was a more engaging kind of exercise for me. I just did it all on my own though and it was a super cheap one.

Also, if you like riding bikes outdoors, but also want to be able to ride stationary indoors, they sell mounts you can set your regular bike on to store it/make it stationary.

my town just got a whole bunch of public bikes like citi bikes around various areas for people to unlock and use but its definitely not meant to be like an exercise thing, more just a bike around town/down to the water kinda thing.

 

Because she will make it extra stressful if I tell her
