The first band I ever remember listening to was Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was like 5/6 and on a holiday to Florida with my family and a friend’s family. The other’s dad gave us By The Way and said my dad would love it. It’s my first memory of music - riding in the car in Florida to the Zephyr Song. That album slapped. It’s a shame they released so much crappy other music and that Anthony Kliedis or however you say his name is such a disgusting human. Only read stuff about him the other day.

 

Crazy how A Lesson In Romantics is a scene classic but the band now has three albums that are better than it

 

One of my best friends and I lost touch when I moved in 2002 and reunited in 2005 for an absolutely amazing show, and when I think of how long ago THAT was and how long we’ve been back in touch it hurts my head.

 

One of my first was Sugarcult/New Found Glory /Green Day

Sugarcult was definitely involved in getting me into the scene somehow. I think my brother’s ex gave me one of their albums in like 2002 and the liner notes led me to some others??

 

The first bands I was like OBSESSED with were Paramore and P.O.D. lol.

Paramore was my first show in 2009. Now, Now Every Children and You Me At Six supported.

 

She’s the bladeeee and you’re just paperrrrr. The intro to that song scared the shit out of me. I thought someone outside was shouting 123!!
