100 Horses and Islands of Men were my initial favs and still love bc they're the rockingest but the ones that pop into my head randomly are Cobra and Taxes
the fact that we all have mostly different answers just goes to show how great this album is through and through
Their music is good. I don’t care if a marketing company paid to market bands did too good of a job marketing them.
3D Country clears anyway so the marketing is N/A to me as is the shame of falling for it (which also isn't real)
People still have to listen to and enjoy the music at the end of the day. Plus they aren’t on the radio or the billboard hot 100 or whatever. They’re a successful indie band.
They’re not suddenly ubiquitous anyway, if you’re even just casually into music and new bands you’ve been trying to keep them and Goose straight for quite a few years now lol. And then oh yeah their lead singer put out an insanely good solo album between band albums which didn’t hurt
Yea the single most telling line in the article is the one about the marketing company forming 4 years after Projector. If you wanna do an expose that unearths proof the indieheads 3D Country hype was bot driven you might have an actual story. If you’re saying a band that was already well on their way to blowing up paid a lot to market their new album, you’re describing every major label or major label adjacent success in music history.
