Yeah I forgot tickets went on sale at 10am. Hopped on at 10:20 and grabbed one, went back and checked at 10:25 and sold out. I got lucky. Hopefully the waitlist comes through!
Been listening to this a ton lately. In hindsight one of the better albums of 2023, there’s really not a bad song on it. Went back to the p4k review the other day and was surprised to see them call it frontloaded, the stretch of Mysterious Love>Domoto>Tomorrow’s Crusades is clearly the high point of this to me. Wish they’d schedule a couple headline shows around the Vampire Weekend tour, I want to see them so bad
V curious to hear which. Some of my friends skip the opener every time, but I love that one especially as the kick the doors in to get it all started song. Undoer is the one song I feel is a blip in the momentum, but even that I think is pretty decent.
It’s definitely not my absolute favorite song on it but I feel like it works perfectly as like a mission statement for the record. Really announces how fun the next 40 min are gonna be.
well, when you put it like that it does make sense it took Spo a while to get into the rest of it if he didn't like the opener lol
Opener is RHCP core. I like it better now than I did the first few times I listened because I'm getting Winter's tics a bit more, and the banjo or whatever is sick. Undoer has been a skip, if only because I'm usually driving and want to get to Domoto faster.
I ended up getting a ticket from the waitlist for their show tonight at the Blue Room and so glad I did, it was absolutely killer. They played most of what I think is their new album, which was cut live to vinyl, and all of 3D Country.
Yeah show was great as was the set list. They also played Jesse before recording began for side 1. Courting were also a lot of fun as an opener. And I saw Jack White walk in in the middle of their set, not sure if he stuck around all night (he owns the venue). Just an all around amazing show.
Getting Killed Tour dates on their site. looks like Getting Killed might be the album name and Taxes will be a single. no date mentioned for new music y Geese – Getting Killed Tour
Not Geese's fault at all, but I really wish Burlington was not all the way up almost in Canada. Cool town and great music history and venues but it's 150 miles further than Brattleboro, for example, which is like a platonic ideal of a tiny idyllic New England/Vermont town but has very little going on. If they switched places I'd have much easier time justifying travelling to VT more often
yeah Brattleboro is like…almost cool. Did a great Airbnb weekend there in 2020. But I can see why tours hit Burlington not there
Yeah I did a night there on the way to Stowe a few years ago and was very charmed, tbh. It's very cool that the town is like 1.5miles in width lol and you can see the whole thing in like a day of walking.
