Gatherers - mutilator. (November 18, 2022)

The first germs of “ ( mutilator.) ” are close to 3 years old. It goes without saying that we, along with the world-at-large, have been transformed since then. The more we wrote, the more we welcomed the sense of being unmoored from expectation. Every idea was on the table, no matter how outlandish or far removed from our established “sound”.

Luckily, these songs still feel as fiercely immediate as they did when they were conceived.

The songs - and sentiments contained within - are equal parts apocalyptic & reverential. Like a photograph of a burning building captured from afar. They’ve taken on new shapes & meanings, etched themselves into our brains; we can only hope that, with time, you’ll come to experience the same emotional metamorphosis.

I really want this band to be successful, I worry there isn't enough of a market for this type of band in 2022, which is a bummer.

Completely flew under my radar, but I’m so excited to listen

 

I don’t have a favorite track because I like them all.
But suffocator for some reason really works as a centerpiece. Even if it’s stylistically very different.
