Ha that's awesome. That happens most of the time to me when listening to the bridge going back into the chorus on "Habit" too. This album is pretty great and it gets better each time. Funny you say that about the second half cause I like the first half a lot more. "Color Worn" and "Left Behind" are really cool though.
Things got busy for me last week so I never got a chance to finish my review of this. been listening to it a lot and love it though so hopefully i will be able to do it tonight.
Finally listened to this and I'm really let down. Took me a few days to fully listen because I kept getting bored in the middle. I'll give it another shot some time.
I think this is the kind of album you listen to, think "wow this is good sounding music," but could easily forget about if you didn't put in the effort. To me, this is a fucking awesome album. All of their songs used to sound very similar and they've really stretched their palette sonically imo. There are songs on here that sound like Copeland, some that sound like Thrice, some like Radiohead, and some like classic Gates. I think for those who are bored by the mellower vibe, keep trying, because this is a record that displays a wonderful band pushing themselves creatively
This was my problem though. The people who i thought it sounded like, I just wanted to listen to those bands do this better (Thrice, Copeland and Moving Mountains to me)
Yeah I've never been a huge fan but I've enjoyed them/liked seeing them as an opening act on a bunch of tours I've gone to see.
Maybe they're just the kinda band you like a handful of songs from but not a whole record. Habit, Shiver, and Empty Canvas are pretty great songs on first listen if u ask me
Got home today and my vinyl was waiting for me. Milk and red splatter looks great but it doesn't sound the best. Not awful tho.
eh if it's an album I love sure. I mostly only bought it cause I thought it was pretty anyway, and it's very pretty.
180g doesn't affect sound quality. Just makes it harder to warp Color can have some impact, but generally if it sounds bad it's a bad master
Yeah, it does. Makes the grooves closer together which surpresses quality Jason posted a good article about that a while back
I remember reading the article, but I couldn't remember the specifics in order to post with confidence. That was a good read though that I think anybody interested in vinyl should read.
honestly, the best part about 45 vinyl is that you can play it at 33 I encourage everyone to play Rh's King of Limbs at 33 - mindblowing
Been listening to this a ton over the last week or so. Not feeling Color Worn at all but the rest of it is really great. It would lose out to Moving Mountains 10/10 times, but the comparisons to it are still pretty spot on. Anyone in here a Sound Of Animals Fighting fan? If so, do you constantly find yourself humming the melody of "The Heretic" whenever "Fade" is playing?
Saw these guys with la dispute a few weeks back, pretty solid live and definitely got me interested in the album. Going to give it a listen later tonight.
love TSoAF (Lover the Lord is one of my all time favorite albums) - haven't noticed that similarity you mention... man, what I would give for a new album... what's the band's status, btw?
My dude your opinion holds no weight at all to me, so I could care less what you have to say evenif you wrote a thesis paper about this album, or if you just write "haha please".
