I'm listening to this band for the first time currently. Listening to Bloom and Breathe and OH MY GOD THIS IS INSANE!!

I had always heard these guys being compared to Moving Mountains and tbh not all of Moving Mountains' stuff does that much for me, but THIS... this is my shit.

I have to re-listen to this record. Totally forgot about this band until my buddy played “Shiver” in the car the other night. The outro to that song was quite possibly the highlight of the Thrice-La Dispute tour and both those bands were phenomenal.

 

as much as I loved B&B when it came out, as time has passed Parallel Lives has just elevated to a whole new dimension for me. Much tighter songwriting, and there's a really special warmth to it I can't quite describe

Well I'm excited to hear it after this, god damn.

I have no good excuse haha. Been lazy and forgot to check them out, I've been recommended them before.

 

just a warning but if you're expecting something quite as grandiose and "epic" sounding as B&B, you might be disappointed. It's not that kind of album. It's very special to me in its own way though

 

I'll go in expecting something different then! I'm reading a review and it sounds like that one is a more subtle and nuanced album less focused on "big" moments, which I'm cool with.

 

of course this isn't also to say Eyes isn't going to blow your mind out of your skull

 

I haven't listed to B&B in a long time, but Parallel Lives has been fairly consistent in my rotation for nearly two years now. Great album.

 

eyes is the best song in the history of music

I come back to bb a lot more, especially in the fall, but yea both are excellent

 

I’ll never forget how impacted I was by “Not My Blood” as a single

One of the few times I was absolutely floored by a song from an upcoming album. It perfectly captured the emotions that I was going through that time, and I can’t remember many other times where a single enraptured me as much as that one did

 

completely forgot about this record. Gonna spin it tonight.
