Did some spins of this again at work today. Still hits as hard as ever. Really hope we don't have to wait 5 years again for a follow up.

 

This and gfil put this band in rarified air imo

 

Both absolutely stellar albums. If they put out another great one after this they’ll definitely be on my Mt Rushmore of bands

wouldn’t fault them for doing a rocking/fun album without the emotional baggage next time though, but that’s why it probably takes like 5 years between records. Curious as to what the record that was scratched before AIRT sounded like

 

GFIL and AIR are two of my favorite albums from the last 6 years and cemented GoY as one of those bands that have the potential to stay with me in a meaningful way for the rest of my life.

 

Absolutely agreed. The Positions also is just a great album, not as good definitely as the others but still shows they don't miss.

 

Positions is phenomenal too, has maybe their best song on it

 

Yes, hadn't thought of that but a fun one, maybe GoY's Local Business or The River would be awesome

Man. Listened to this and Go Farther in Lightness this morning and it's just wild that they released two albums of that magnitude back to back.

 

Just discovered this yesterday, some guys doing a deep-dive podcast on the band and specifically Go Further into Lightness. Just in the first episode but real good so far. I still need to see them... Come to Minnesota! No Tone Unturned

Listened to the Immolation Tape EP for the first time in a while today. These songs lend themselves so well to that stripped-down style. It’s a great listen.
