please listen to The Positions too if you're new here! it's just as good and important as what came after imo
Damn for these guys to opening this album with one of the most headturning moments in music this year (the drop into the arpeggios)
catch me walking around my house belting "THE UPSIDE OF IT, THE UPSIIIIIIDE OF IT" for the next two weeks
When The Angel of 8th came out I instantly loved the song…but when you read the lyrics it makes it even better. Same with basically every single to follow. Cool record. I do wish they had infused guitars into another song or two with a little less dances music, but there’s so much on here to love. Unison works better on the record as a whole too than on Total Serene if that makes sense. I wanna hear the bsides demo and alt version of Angel 8
I am extremely excited to listen to this. Gonna be an early morning with coffee first listen. Can’t wait.
I liked a few songs off the last one. I’ll try this, I think they’re just a wee bit too earnest for my personal taste. I’ll give it a whirl though.
Totally forgot about this until I saw their IG today haha. Wow, tomorrow is gonna be a great day for me when I put it on first thing the morning. People at my work have no idea what they’re in for
Angel In Real-time is a brilliant spiritual eulogy. It felt like a long wait between records but you can feel the living and losing between albums in the lyrics.
people at your work gonna be shook when I'M ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEYYYYY blasts out of your speakers lmao
I don’t think I’ve ever heard an album quite like this one in my life. Truly a special thing. Just finished one listen and I’ll do another while reading the lyrics in the morning, but man. The transition from Hand of God to the first few minutes of Goal of the Century is insane. And Brothers, while not my *favorite* song, is some of the best (and most raw) writing I’ve heard in a while. Just so much going on all over this thing.
Whilst I can’t relate to 100% of the lyrics on the album but I’ve never heard something that hits me as hard as this has. I had tears in my eyes from the first song and Brothers ruined me
A few tracks in and remembering that one of my friends described their music well when he said "it's so earnest that it should be cheesy but it's somehow not"
