  1. She's my favorite person to hate, and I absolutely love her for it.

    Clearly referring to Mereen.

I feel like The Hound pissing in the river was D&D teasing us with LSH before they finally put the nail in that coffin. Or maybe I'm looking too deep into that.

Arya and Jaime are this season's Stannis and Dorne. All of these other changes to the story and the timeline and something has to give. That's resulted in two characters having zero story arc and development over the last two seasons and that's just bad.

Apart from getting supporters, idk what that means, maybe Dorne? but spoilers for the ending of A Dance With Dragons: he sneaks back into Kings Landing to assassinate Maester Pycell and Kevan Lannister. of course it makes more sense in the book as he's trying to destabilize the Lannisters by making Cersei more paranoid of the Tyrells, so I guess we'll see if that's how it plays

It was good, I expected more. Not seeing Arya fight the Waif is an awful choice. Everything we've seen suggests she should have been killed so it looks like a cop out. More problematic is the disappointing lack of assassin training Arya ultimately received. If you go all the way back to Jaqen killing the guards and pinning them in place and telling Arya he'll teach her how to kill like that, I expected more from the House of Black and White training. Did Arya even learn how to switch faces in the show?

I keep saying this but next week's has to be great.

Exactly, and she's not cartoonishly evil like Joffrey or Ramsay. Her persistence in staying as a part of the game keeps her story always compelling.

Varys said "We need friends in Westeros" so I assumed that was were he was going.

Arya's story arc is just as disappointing as Dorne. Frustrating.

Ready for next week's Battle of the Bastards.

Nah. Varys made a point earlier of saying that how Tyrion carried himself gave him away as nobility. Maybe he just meant by name but at that point what does that even matter? If you're going on a secret mission you don't shout your name everywhere you go. He was worried about Tyrion being recognized. That's Westeros or Braavos.

He was the dwarf by Dany's side in the Pit in front of the whole city. He's referring to Mereen. No other inference. Period. We know Varys is going to Westeros because he said it, not because Tyrion would be known there.

Next week's episode is going to the best. Hopefully the entire hour is dedicated to that battle.

I disagree. They were staring at the docks, and he stated it wouldn't be a secret that he was leaving on a "secret mission" if he was seen walking to the boat with the most famous dwarf in the city. Which he is now, literally been in command in place of the Queen since she left.

Same, they've done it before in the 9th episodes of two different seasons (and the 8th last season) so I don't think it would be a stretch to assume as much next week

edit: I am mistaken, ep. 8 'Hardhome' was not dedicated entirely to that battle

Either way, I'm gonna miss Varys/Tyrion interactions.

Anyone else think Jon and Sansa's army will put up a good fight, but ultimately look to be losing the battle until The Vale comes and takes out what's left of Ramsey's men?

Yeah I could see it ending this way, then leaving the 10th episode to witness the aftermath/maybe Ramsay's fate if he's captured and not killed in the battle

  18. That's exactly what I assumed would happen once I saw the scene of the wildlings being backed up by the Bolton front line.

Episode 9 is hopefully a full 60 Ramsay vs Jon

Epsiode 10 is Hirofumi everything else. Dany cleans up meereen. Meets theon. Leaves for Westeros/fights Euron. Arya lands back in Westeros. Shit hits the fan in kings landing. Dorne does nothing. Etc.

I assumed Varys was going to Dorne, seems like the logical place to go if he's looking for allies in Westeros. Of course, he's Varys, so he probably also knows the Iron Fleet is in Volantis, may be going there first to secure their alliance.

I'm worried if he goes to Kings Landing....Cersei's "rumor" may be that Tyrion turned up in Meereen. Which means Varys' little birds could be betraying him to Qyburn...so if he shows up in Kings Landing expecting it to be a total secret and expecting them to be loyal to him....uggggh DON'T DIE VARYS.

This is what I figured would happen all along. It would take time for the raven to catch up with The Vale. Not only that, but the march back to Winterfell from wherever they are, has to take some time.

In Jamie's speech to Edmure he mentioned Catelyn and Cersei "turning cities to ash" for their children. I think that's telling.

I believe Petyr said they were garrisoned below the Neck. Not sure how they'll get through Moat Cailin, unless it's undefended because Ramsay assumes there's no enemies coming from the south. Or Baelish somehow gets the help of the Crannogmen..
