The Lannisters are my favorite family, but I can't see any of them sit the throne. Tyrion is the only one I can see getting anywhere close to it and a part of me has a feeling he'll be dead by the end of the series along with Jaime and Cersei.

 

Abolish the Seven Kingdoms.

I wouldn't mind the Night King sitting on the throne at the end of one of the last episodes because it would be such a cool scene. But then Jonny boy has to take care of him.

 

I feel like there has to be a major revelation regarding the Walkers. Like, there's no way that army can take on three dragons.

 

No one will sit on the iron throne at the end of it all.

 

Well fire doesn't seem to affect the Walkers themselves, they seem to put it out just by getting near it.

 

Doesn't mean that's how they'll react to dragonfire

 

Yeah I think dragon fire is a whole different beast. My thoughts are that the WW sort of have their way in Westeros and Dany saves the day. Would be pretty anti climactic if they were stopped in the North.

 

Putting my money on Jon eventually leading the White Walkers in some way w/ Bran involved

A friend, watching for the first time, just got to The Rains of Castamere and doesn't know The Red Wedding is coming. I feel so bad for not warning her, but at the same time, it's so rare to get that far without spoilers of this show I want her to "enjoy" the experience.

 

I was with my girlfriend when she watched it for the first time. She hated me for not warning her and "letting her suffer"

 

I wouldn't want a warning.

 

I certainly didn't get one when I read the books for the first time. Still devastated me in the show.

 

Just watched The Red Wedding again on YouTube. Still so crazy. The show hasn't done anything close to topping that.

She's in shock, but also said Theon's torture scene affected her more.

 

Same here. One of my favorite GoT scenes is Robb chastising his uncle in Riverrun for a tactical blunder. He was the sort of military leader that Jon Snow grew to be soon afterward. His biggest flaw was he picked and chose when to be 'honorable' (marry the wrong girl / behead the lord of a major house).

 

Shock factor. Impact. Awesomeness. Etc.

 

While 2 seasons ago I would of agreed you. However, the more we have seen of her, the more I have come to believe Dany isn't the savior of Westeros and will actually just contribute more to the problem.

Darrio said it best last episode, Shes not a ruler, she's a conqueror. She doesn't understand political middle ground and she values her Dragons like nuclear weapons.

Maybe the white walkers aren't the real problem, and maybe Jon's true purpose when he was resurrected is to kill her.

 

I agree that two seasons ago I definitely thought Dany would be the force that stopped the White Walkers, and eventually ended up on the Iron Throne. I don't believe so anymore, at least not the last part, and I don't really have a new theory to suggest in its place. I guess I've accepted that I now have absolutely no clue how this show is going to end... there are just so many variables.

However, Tyrion being on Team Dany is going to significantly impact what I highlighted above in your comment. She's still young and learning and unlike most Westerosi rulers, she didn't get to grow up watching and learning how to rule people from her parents. The main question is whether her and/or her dragons actually survive until the end. I don't see the dragons surviving the fight against the WWs, but they will be paramount to the victory. I see her either losing control of them, or more likely is them being sacrificed in some form or another as a final desperate move in the fight against the WWs.

 

Apparently that's exactly who he was, and he's going to be in this week's episode.
