That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

I was thinking about the theory that the Arya who got stabbed this week was actually Jaqen in an Arya mask. I know we've seen an Arya face before not on Arya, but how would Jaqen have gotten that? So far from what I've gathered they get those faces from actually cutting them off of dead people, so how would they have gotten a mask of Arya's face?

Someone on reddit was able to decipher Sansa's letter word for word, with the exception of a few, but the point still comes across. I'll spoil tag the meat of it.

You vowed to protect me...the Knights of the Vale are under your control...ride north to Winterfell[\spoiler]

So, you can assume what she's doing.

    No surprise there.

Either this is Sansa coming into her own, saving the day, or fucking everything up because she is getting ahead of herself.

There is still a scene from the season preview that we haven't seen yet - Little Finger standing in an open snowy area. I don't recall if you see who he's talking to, but I could make an assumption.

I took Arya's carelessness as her trying to attract attention and draw out the waif. She's no dummy. I don't think any of the fight club / jaquen stuff adds up, but I think there is a reason behind her actions that we'll hopefully find out next episode.

I think she isn't actually hurt. How she pulled that off? No idea. But now she can stumble into town leaving a trail of blood (which may not be hers) which will again bring out the waif, but this time thinking she's about to finish off a weak target. And then… BAM!

I dont think there's any way the Waif isn't stuck with the pointy end of Needle this week.

Just had a horrifying thought about the upcoming battle...DO NOT READ IF YOU DID NOT READ ANY OF THE FILMING SPOILERS

So I avoided a decent amount of spoilers pre-season, but decided to go back and read some of them (some of them again). Somewhere in there it was brought up that he'll be displaying some flayed bodies on the battlefield. I think once Rickon was taken, we all kind of assumed he'll be one of them. The quotes surrounding those filming spoilers said they'd be "characters recognized by show fans".

Is there any way he gets his grubby little hands on Yas Queen Lady Lyanna Mormont, and the person giving that quote knew we'd be getting a heavy intro to her and that fans would def recognize her?? She was shown to be in camp with the soldiers last week, so she is in the area. I swear to god she better make it through this battle...ugh. I know it's way more of a long shot than Rickon, but still.

I say do it, we don't know that character or have any stake, but if Jorah hears about it he may come wreck shit and rub his arm on a ton of people.

Just a thought, if Rickon survives wouldn't that make him warden of the north? Then wouldn't he then be able to make Jon an actual Stark? I can't think of anyone else at this point who can do that unless Sansa can? I'm gonna go figure this shit out.

I asked this question a few months ago in this thread...every indication we've had in both the shows and the books is that a King has to make the decree to legitimize a bastard, as far as I can remember. Not sure if Rickon would be named King in the North only to legitimize Jon and give up the crown to him.

I assume Sansa could be named Queen in the North and do it, as well.

When I asked the question, I was theorizing on whether Davos technically had the authority to do so since he's basically all that's left of Stannis' camp, but that'd be a real stretch.

What about Roose though, who was he exactly? He made Ramsay a Bolton remember. Wasn't he the Warden of The North?

That makes a lot of sense, I was actually just reading a very believable theory that Robb legitimized him in his will which was sent north just before the red wedding.

He petitioned King Tommen to do it, and presented Ramsay with the letter officially naming him Ramsay Bolton, signed by the King.

That's the thing, I don't think it's a trick I think they just actually sided with the Boltons.

also re: the warden of the North, I'm pretty sure that is a title assigned by the King, i.e. Roose's reward for betraying the Starks. If Rickon survives I guess that would make him the heir of Winterfell if that's how succession works and also Bran being MIA at the moment.

Ohhhh alright. Well that shit isn't happening for a Stark.

I really hope Sansa has something up her sleeves as far as the help from Littlefinger stuff goes, and I hope it doesn't end with Littefinger in good position over Sansa and Jon. I always thought her whole arc was about her learning to be a great player of "the game" and i'm just waiting for that to pay off. Even in her newfound confidence in herself she's yet to prove herself as capable at all.

Also i've been curious how Littefinger reacts to the stuff going on beyond the wall, White Walkers is something he probably did not factor into his longterm scheming and might fuck up his plans.

Idk who out of the main characters we will lose, but the battle of the bastards will leave someone we care about dead, as well as Ramsey and Rickon. I do see Sansa/Jon and co. winning though.

As for Arya, it makes no sense that she could take multiple stab wounds to the gut, not cry out in pain at all, and then walk it off. We've seen characters endure much less and be rendered immobile. I think either she's leading the Waif to where she wants her, or that was just bad storytelling. She has to know Jaquen would want her dead, she went into hiding with Needle that night in a place where she couldn't be ambushed, and then the next day went strolling around. It has to be a set up.

Yeah there's a chance for some pretty big deaths during that winterfell battle, but I think Jon and Sansa are probably safe, and Rickon and Ramsay probably done for. I'm on the fence about Tormund since he's pretty much the only wildling left with a speaking role and so ends up being representative of them all. Unless all the wildlings get wiped out, then I think he's safe. Wun Wun on the other hand is probably doomed

edit: also Davos, I don't really know how he'll factor into the battle at all, especially after (presumably) discovering what happened to Shireen

I really would hate to see Davos die. More than some other major good characters in the show. I think his dialogue and the actor himself are great and believable at all times. I do think Wun Wun is donezo too, mostly because i'm sure the CGI to produce that character is expensive and time consuming, so it will likely be his big last battle. But he certainly isn't going without taking someone with him.
