the wildfire is not from the future, that is from when aerys was king.

Was that something that was mentioned in the show or in the books? I don't remember hearing about the Mad King igniting an inferno under King's Landing.

Pretty sure it was both. Jaime mentions it to Brienne when they were in the tub together. It's been a while since I've watched that episode but if it wasn't in that scene then it probably wasn't in the show at all because, to my knowledge, Jaime is the only one alive that knew of Aerys' plan.

I'm pretty sure Jaime had a whole monologue about it when he was telling Brienne about being labeled as the "kingslayer".

The plan was to burn the entire city with wildfire but Jamie killed everybody before it happened.

Alright, yea that's been a while. I've been listening to the Game of Thrones Podcast from baldmove.com and they've theorized about that particular Wildfire vision.

I'd be so down with Cersei burning King's Landing.

Ok so the Mad Kind ordered the Wildfire but it never took place, right?

I'm good with that still happening in some way.

Yeah, the "burn them all!" was him telling his pyromancer to go light the wildfire and burn down the city.

Jaime also alluded to it in S1 when Robert asked him what the Mad King said when Jaime stabbed him in the back. "The same thing he'd be saying for hours....burn them all."

The timing of the reappearing of the thought-dead characters of Jon and the Hound, and the obvious fact that Arya's cliffhanger will surely not end with her death, will almost certainly make an appearance of Lady Stoneheart feel like overkill and cheapen the finality of basically anything that happens from here on out.

The Hound's being brought back is owed to his popularity as much as anything. You don't kill spectacular characters. The only great character, in my opinion, how has died so far is Tywin. I wouldn't indulge it as indulging a "revenge plot," considering he had no designs on revenge when he was last seen. Unless you think he's planning revenge on Brienne or Arya.

How though? The Hound was not dead. Benjen was not dead. The Hound was a significant character never placed in a position that meant his immediate death. Benjen was continually mentioned throughout the series thus implying significance. It doesn't cheapen anything. Especially since Jon and LS are the same exact means.
Did you think the episode ended with the Hound leaving to chop more trees?

Do you think him taking revenge against unnamed characters introduced this past episode is the purpose of his return to the plot?

No, not at all. I just was pointing out I think it's funny that they dismissed LS because it's just mindless revenge only to reintroduce Sandor to send him on a mindless hunt for revenge.

Oh, I gotcha. In that case, LS's supposed revenge would actually be much more germane to the existing plot than the Hound's revenge against these brotherhood fellas.

Redditor catNamedStupidity has a theory on the Waif and what her true relationship to Arya might be. The shortest way to explain it? What if Game of Thrones is pulling a Fight Club and Arya is the Waif? Think about it: the Waif is only ever seen by Arya and Jaqen, everyone else seems to ignore her even when she’s beating the crap out of Arya. She always knows where Arya is and is always lurking in the shadows, seeing everything Arya does.

What if the Waif is a disassociated portion of Arya’s personality caused by the water she’s been drinking in the House of Black and White? The Waif is the real No One, and her mission is to kill Arya Stark in order to transform her into a Faceless Man. When the Waif asked Jaqen to kill Arya, he seemed pleased. In effect Arya was finally asking him to kill those last parts of herself and truly become No One.

It makes some sense of the reason Arya seemed so out of character and wanting to escape the city.

    Fucking Fight Club, man.

I do believe that there was more to that scene than meets the eye. I don't think Arya would be dumb enough to walk out in the open like that. And I doubt she wouldn't have needle.

In terms of the theory that it was really Jaquen with Arya's face... serious question... Can you wear the face of someone who isn't dead? Also how would he be so small. Wearing the face of a girl wouldn't change your body?

Yeah the Arya theories are even dumber than her nonchalantly strolling around Braavos after betraying the most infamous group of assassins on the planet.

Cleganebowl would be cool I think it would be more interesting to see the ramifications of Lancel representing the faith militant in a trial by combat at the moment. Cersei being responsible for killing her cousin and the son of the hand of the king. Plus I think it would be uncharacteristic of the faith to have someone represent them who has not atoned for their sins. I don't know though its whatever. Clegane brothers will fight at some point during this show.
