Alright episodes, everything involving Dorne still sucks. Not sure what that ending was supposed to be, outside of some resurrection magic jumbo wombo.
Holy shit. WTF Dorne?! I'll be back with more complete thoughts later. But WHAT THE FUCK DORNE WHAT THE FUCK
Just in case... That Melisandre would resurrect Jon. Then again, maybe she has to die to do that? Don't think that was a requirement in the books, though.
And yeah, that was a very solid, good "pick up the cliffhangers and reset for the season" episode. Honestly had more action than I expected.
People are calling that a bad episode? What? The only story that felt like it dragged was the Wall story. We spent a lot of time there but didn't get as far as the fight we saw coming in the trailers, which I thought for sure was going to be the climax of the episode.
I don't think anything about this episode hinted she was dying. She's old. Her power makes her appear young, and somehow that power is linked to whatever that necklace thing is. She took it off to go to sleep. That's all I took from it.
The final scene, and I could be wrong here, just seemed to give off the vibe like she was giving up because she had been wrong about both Stannis and Jon. Didn't carry any sort of essence, to me anyways, that she was doing this with any purpose other than defeat. I also think because of the popularity of the theory from the second the scene aired last season could've swayed them into writing a different way (if it's even going to happen at all), but that's less from the scene and more from knowing and talking to a lot of creatives and writers.
Yeah she feels defeated because Stannis died and she's probably doubting herself. She can wake up in the morning and put that thing back on and get to work when she realizes Stannis isn't Azzor Ahai etc etc whatever the prophecy is.
