Tommen would have to agree to fight the mountain though and I can't see him doing that..

I thought that if someone is chosen as champion, they have to go along with it? If one potential champion declines, do they have a second choice?

no, they have to find someone who agree's to be their champion. Remember Tyrion trying to get people to fight for him for both of his trials. Just choosing anyone and them then being forced into a fight to the death would make no sense, haha.

haha yea that wouldn't make too much sense, but I wouldn't put it past anything in this universe.

Who knows though, Tommen is so impressionable I could see him being persuaded by the High Sparrow.

As much as I was The Hound to come back, I don't see how or when. Plus, there are only 3 episode left and some pretty big plot lines to wrap up.

He is impressionable but persuading him to fight the mountain to try and get his mother executed (or whatever they're trying to do to her) is one thing I couldn't fathom happening under any circumstance.

So then what? Obviously someone is playing someone here, none of this can be as straight forward as it seems.

I still think the High Sparrow wants more of the throne than he's leading on. Also there is no way Margery goes from talking to her brother the way she did, to just blindly following the Sparrows. I don't think we'll see resolution of this just yet but maybe next season.

A lot of people have complained about Sam's plotline... and while it wasn't the most exciting way to go about things it was a very logical/plausible way of having Sam end up with a Valyrian Steel sword. I mean, I'm willing to bet those complaining about these scenes being boring would be complaining even more if Sam ended up with the sword through some hackneyed means.

oh everyone's absolutely trying to play everyone except Tommen who's probably just being played. No idea what's going to happen but I'd bet all the werehogs it won't be Tommen v the Mountain, haha.

    The Sam scenes were fine.

  10. I have to agree. The Mountain vs a CareBear would still be more-plausible in my mind than The Mountain vs Tommen.

Not that I'm complaining or questioning anything, but why is it assumed that Sam needs a Valyrian Steel sword? Have I missed something?

  12. Valyrian Steel is one of only two known substances that kills whitewalkers. The other being dragonglass.

Oh yeah sure, I just meant that your post sounded like it was so certain that Sam in particular would need to aquire one, by hook or by crook, so I was wondering why? What with his current storyline taking him away from the North, and thus the immediate threat. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Curious as to WHY Valyrian steel kills them since the creation of the Wight Walkers came from dragon glass.

So say The Hound is who the High Sparrow beckons to be their champion, how does he get there and do we see a glimpse of where he's been?

Well the secret to forging Valyrian steel has been lost so it's unclear. Dragon's presumably play a role in creating the steel also there is magic.

  16. Oh, I gotcha. I am very certain that Sam's maester training will never happen, either because of something caused by Gilly/lilSam or more likely something big happens like the wall comes down.

I'd assume that some sort of magical properties went into the making of Valyrian steel. "The recipe" was lost in the Doom, suggesting to me that there's more than just steel that goes into those swords.

I believe the prevailing theory is that The Seven found The Hound after Arya left him to die, and they either healed him or brought him back.

The Seven? Is that related to the Brotherhood Without Banners? They were mentioned in this last episode, so who knows.

The Seven=The Faith of the Seven. So either a Septon or Septa or sparrows found him and took him in.

  19. The Seven is "The Faith of the Seven", the same religion as the High Sparrow and the religion that the majority of Westeros (except the North) follows. The Sparrows are just kinda religious extremists.

    Ahh ok, gotcha.

    So what's left?

Curious to see if Brienne and Jamie run into each other again. Could you imagine if he somehow lends a hand (pun intended) to Brienne once he hears of the plans to take back Winterfell?

  21. Spoilers have already gotten out that Jamie and Brienne do see each other in Riverrun, and that they part on bad terms

    Question.

In the books, Arya worgs into a cat when she fights the faceless man and beats him. I wonder if there will be a similar thing happen when Waif comes after her. I know we haven't seen her worg, but who knows.

  23. I was pretty disappointed that Arya didn't learn to worg while she was blind. I felt like it was hinted pretty strongly in one episode earlier this season, but nothing came of it.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

So Arya kills The Faceless Man in the books? I wasn't sure how far that story had reached before the last book. Still curious where she's going.

    I'm Back.

No it was just a fight like with Waif.
