I can’t claim to know much about tv production, but I feel like this burnout probably could have been prevented or delayed with a more faithful adaptation. Like I’m not surprised Kit was exhausted, he was doing a ton of shooting by the time we got to seasons 6/7/8. But if they actually do Dorne and Essos based stories instead of deleting them completely or really shortening them, it probably means Kit and other characters don’t have to be on set as long every season because their story gets stretched out a little bit?
Yeah I definitely got the impression that Benioff/Weiss were spent and just wanted to get the series over with as soon as possible. No real care about taking their time perfecting the story.
it's funny, my wife is rewatching himym and I got served a clip of the table read for the final episode and there has never been anyone more over with a show they're working on than jason segel in that clip I kinda get it for anyone wrapped up in a decade with one role
Is there even a standalone storyline that could be condensed into a 3 hour cinematic marvel? I feel like we’d be looking at another LOTR-style trilogy that clocks in at 10+ hours
Honestly I would love for it to be a Dance movie since we apparently have a lot more to cover and not enough time for two more seasons
Maybe it could be Robert’s Rebellion? It’s only a year long conflict and they could probably cut out some battles
As annoying as the fan casting is, there really is no better choice for Aegon, even if Cavill is a littttle old for it since Aegon was only 27 when the conquest began. But they aged everyone else up in GOT so would still work.
GOddamnit if I'm not gonna get the Elissa Farman story translated to the screen, I'll settle for Arya finding out what's west of westeros
