It's just an idea. Doesn't mean it's true or that it applies to all of them. Plus we have no idea what Rickkon was up to. I'm not sure I believe it completely. I'm more believing that Lady died just because there wasn't really a story for her. GreyWind died as part of the Red Wedding and they had to kill them all. Summer died symbolizing that Summer is over and Winter has arrived.
Did they mention that in the shows? If so, I missed it. Just didn't realize how important he was I guess.
@Garrett L. I mean I understand Sam's father is an important character to him, I just didn't realize the importance of his character in the grand scheme of things. i.e. Wielding one of the only 4 remaining swords to be forged from Valyrian Steel.
There's over 200 remaining swords, so that's not really his importance. He's a semi-major lord in Westeros, though. I forget why and allegiances, though.
He's important as one of the strongest commanders in Westeros supporting, arguably, the strongest family right now.
Isn't the sword of house dayne (can't remember the name) valyrian steel? Is that even in the show? Can't remember
It was featured this season as it was wielded by Arthur Dayne. Not really talked about though and nobody currently wields it, pretty sure thats accurate.
oh yeah, guess thats true, i think youre right. i know grrm said its going to be in the next couple books and it/house dayne will be super important (not sure if that needed to be spoilered but oh well) so i was wondering. curious if itll be that way in the show too
Just saw an article on Facebook that GRRM told the writers three plot secrets before the beginning of season 5 that he felt were crucial for the show. Two of them we've now seen: Shireen being burned and Hodor's name backstory. The third, we apparently won't see until the series finale, though.
Jon Snow being brought back to life wasn't one? Or that the Children of the Forest created the White Walkers? Both of which seem more crucial to the plot than Hodor or Stannis' lame burn out.
I keep finding myself thinking each episode has strong points and overall just ok, but I'm always thinking the next episode will be really great. This episode wasn't much different, and Euron was really disappointing. I think the time loop stuff is going to create more problems moving forward, and its already kind of silly. The show moving beyond the books gives each episode a revelatory quality that makes each seem immediately pretty memorable, but ultimately I don't think the season has been great. Still pretty excited every week though, definitely a fun season.
I'd imagine Jon was covered years before, as the show started right around the finishing of writing ADWD. TWoW reveals, aka those two, make sense as he hadn't necessarily written that far in at the time of their initial talks.
Maise Williams was on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night and said that Waif (that badass blonde at the House of Black and White) isn't with the cast anymore...so yea, who knows! This isn't a spoiler, but in the season preview we saw Arya running and jumping like something straight out of Assassin's Creed. She was dressed in her "no one" clothing at the time, so I wouldn't be surprised if she kills Waif and then needs to escape.
Just because she isn't with the cast, doesn't mean the character doesn't exist. I mean, look what she is training to do.
True, I just think it's interesting when these little tid bits come out. I'm still sticking with my theory of Arya running away from the House though.
