That was a good finale. Honestly don't have many complaints other than I'm not sure how Bronn ended up on the council and being Master of Coin. Talk about a come up. Lot of great stuff, otherwise. Still think a full 10-ep season would've been better, but overall I found it satisfying. Glad this part came true.
Ok just finished. I wasn’t really anticipating this finale, and it was really bumming me out. With all the criticism the season got, and some parts deservedly so. I thought there’s no way they’re gonna tie this up well at all. I was wrong. This was such a strong episode, and worked very well as a finale. Not perfect, but very well done. The throne room scene was great, and I’m so glad they didn’t prolong it like I was assuming. Drogon leaving with Dany’s body was so fucking powerful. Bran will make a good king. BRIENNE FILLING OUT JAMIES PAGE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? I got so emotional at this . The small council scene was everything. I’m so sad now, but I’m glad the show runners knew how they wanted to end it. Say what you want about the teleportation, and time skips in other episodes. This finale was so well paced with locales, and time jumps. Fuck. Can’t wait to read through all the complaints now
This was good to read Emilia Clarke on the 'Game of Thrones' finale's shock twist: 'I stand by Daenerys'
People who are quick to say that Dany had a heel turn: She did somewhat convey her rational reasoning for last ep. Since s5 she aimed to break the wheel by any means..... She did just that. In her POV what she did was justified, and she tried to explain that to Jon. So people labeling her a Vilian are too blunt.
She did absolutely murder innocent people though, and she’s not the person she was at the beginning of the show. Though “mad” is a lazy way of portraying her
- Daenerys' character arc will make my conservative grandfather who watches the series very happy! "So much for the tolerant left!" etc - The scene of the dragon - a primordial fire breathing beast of tooth and claw - realizing how evil the throne/an authoritarian monarchy was before any of the smartest human characters on the show was quite something! - It almost felt like Tyrion while forming the council at any second was gonna say, "...but at what cost? Has anyone truly won, in this game of thrones?" - It got a bit dusty in the house during the Brianne writing about Jamie scene, Arya and Jon saying goodbye and the Jon, Tormund and Ghost reunion scene. - I'm really, really happy things ended as well as they did for Tyrion. Maybe a little too well, but I'm good with that.
really love the idea of Brienne finishing Jaime's entry in the white book, his last chapter in ASOS is one of my favs
I don't think she's "mad", but believing she was justified in torching a city full of innocent people isn't not villainous. and her plan to break the wheel was to conquer the entire world
pretty happy with with all of it. don't know why ppl wanted sansa as queen that'd have been lame - democracy scene was great. almost seemed like they're keepin options open for an arya spinoff but idk.
