Yeah but that's him letting his anger get to him, the plan he put into place was probably about as good as he could have hoped for. Trenches to prevent a pincer move, etc

 

Jon being absolutely useless in battle until the women in his life manage to swoop in and separately save the day is one of his few traits.

 

I think it makes you a pretty ineffective tactician if you can’t stick to your plan when the bad guy does the thing your cousin warned you for two episodes he was gonna do lol

 

Okay you've all convinced me. And that means Jon is a naive fool who is still going to get to be king bc reasons, which I guess does sum up real life as well white men fail up lol

 

I think Jon at the Battle of the Bastards is understandable.

But his strategy defending Winterfell was hot garbage.

 

Tbf I don’t think just about any of the characters are very smart at this point

 

I'm pretty confident Jon won't be king.

Sansa and Davos are really the only two I think anyone could make a case for

I'd like to think if Jon gets put on the throne, he would dissolve the political system and let the kingdoms rule themselves. Gives KL to Tyrion, Sansa rules the north, and Jon travels to the "real north" to give Ghost that hug he owes him.

 

Crazy to think this is all gonna be over in 4 days.

 

Eh, there's a difference between being a hot head and not being good at planning a military battle. Jon also has a good mind for ruling justly. He is basically a more immature Ned at this point.

I also was on the "the Winterfell strategy was bad" train but, the more I thought about it, the more I think it was done the way it was in an effort to draw the Night King out ASAP. If they hid behind their walls it would have been a cluster....and frankly that many soldiers probably weren't going to fit inside the castle. The dothraki charge was bad though.

 

A lot of Jon's political choices as Lord Commander were correct, everyone just hated them and murdered him for them.
