I couldn't remember this but now that I googled it I know exactly what you mean, but... you're wrong. You know what was a massive N64 disappointment? Diddy Kong Racing. The Stunt map, Alcatraz, Uptown New York... so many good races.
the truest travesty across the entire ASOIAF franchise is that there is no true video game adaptation. the RPG from last gen was a disaster, the Telltale game was janky af and story was just okay. theres supposedly a phenomenal Total War mod but that doesn't count. give Obsidian the license and they will completely annihilate our skulls
the definitive GOT video game is the CK2 mod, which has its flaws but is able to emulate the world in a way that no other game really ever could
I used to play the "Star Wars: Dark Forces" games because they were the only games our old Compaq could handle and they weren't as violent as FPS like "Doom" or something. They were fun for the time.
I've seen speculation that Rian Johnson's trilogy might be set during the Old Republic. Though, that might also just be borne somewhat out of people's desire to see SW set in an era that isn't as beholden to any existing material. I'm still interested in seeing what Weiss & Benioff can concoct, but my enthusiasm has definitely waned a little bit over the last few years. Maybe they'll be better without having to continue the story of characters they didn't create, or maybe the drop in quality since they passed Martin is more indicative of their abilities? Time will tell.
KOTOR is just aged, im sure it was as good as everyone says in its day. Its fair to say the CK2 GOT mod doesn't count but other than adding some cutscenes or something its hard to imagine a format more fitting for it, at least if you're trying to go open world/sandboxy with it
The biggest tragedy of Disney getting rid of all of the books as cannon was the removal of Dash Rendar and Shadows of the Empire as canon. Best Star Wars game, best Star Wars book.
I think the only SWEU book I read was the one about Darth Bane but I did read like the entire star wars extended history wiki page at one point in middle school
