what next week needs js a good “thanus theory” for how it all plays out. Someone shrinking and going right up someone’s butt to kill them
I started with being meh on the episode watched again and loved it. The cinematography is on fucking point.
I must have fucking terrible taste because I've been really enjoying this season and I particularly thought this episode was fantastic, it was genuinely thrilling imo I do have two complaints though, one pretty major and one kind of minor - Jaime and Cersei's deaths were not satisfying at all. Even though it's not what I wanted I'm okay with Jaime going back to Cersei because it makes sense on a human level, but they still should have died a lot more dramatically. At least give them death speeches or something. I knew they were both going to die this episode but I'm still bummed Jaime is dead. At least he got to kill Euron - Why the hell didn't Daenerys just fuck up the ships like she did tonight last week? Some other scattered thoughts: - I don't understand anyone saying that Dany turning mad is out of nowhere, they've been hinting at it for years - I personally loved Clegane Bowl. Sure it was kind of over the top but that's exactly why lol, it was gorgeously shot, especially both of them falling out of the tower. The Mountain looked like Darth Vader without his helmet lol - I can't figure out who's gonna kill Dany, I'm torn between Jon and Arya. Maybe even Tyrion somehow? - I'm still sticking to my theory that Jon gets the throne and then dissolves it so there's not only one ruler. He's seen firsthand how it drives people to madness (don't tell me if I'm right or wrong if anyone has read leaks)
I kept telling my wife during the episode that if Jon would have just taken one for the team and had sex with Dany (again)...he could have saved thousands. Also I swear I think I saw that same soldier who keeps recurring in multiple GoT episodes towards the beginning.
Swiping right on the entitled southern girl who's a widow and has three kids? After last night, you have to love Ygritte more. You know nothing, Jon Snow.
I feel like they have hinted at Dany being emotionally immature and a bit of a pissant but someone is going to have to explain to me how exactly her being literally insane and massacring a while city has been foreshadowed by her behavior beyond this season
the arc for all the characters is nature over nurture and that no matter how much you try to change, you are who you’ve always been.
REALLLLLLLLL ORIGINAL. I preferred Nature over petty human politics and bullshit with the WW destroying them all.
- i liked the symbolism, as on the nose as it was, of Jaime and Cersei standing on top of the painted map of Westeros as the kingdom crumbled around them. i guess my headcanon is Jaime wanted to believe he could live a lowkey life as an honorable man, but had a taste of what the highest point of that life would be like and it wasnt enough for him. - i was bracing for Cersei's inevitable "last trick" until they made it to the basement level of the keep and saw how defeated she was. that was one trope i would have put money on seeing here. - on the note of Cersei, Lena gave an incredible performance that i am still thinking about. her heartbreak over the realization she was going to lose another child was palpable. - Euron's final line was a 2 out of 10 but was raised to a 3 out of 10 by the fact that he didn't even kill Jaime in the end. - with maybe even five more episodes i think we could've gotten to a point where Daeny's turn felt a little more earned. it's a shame we didn't because the moment itself in a vacuum was executed masterfully. it was tense and there were some strong "PLEASE GOD. NO ONE MOVE LETS BE FRIENDS" vibes on my couch - on some more heavy handed symbolism that i was very there for, the Hound spearing Gregor through the keep into flames was perfect. maybe the most faithful conclusion to a character arc we've gotten this season beyond Jorah's. i prob have more thoughts but am gonna rewatch it first. very glad i didn't read the leaks, because no matter how good or bad it was, it was a ride that i was sucked into the whole time. ALSO ALSO pro wrestling did Clegane Bowl first just saying
also if there are more leaks can yall not talk about them at all because the thread was insufferable the whole time last week cause of them thanks
it wasn’t. cersei and jaime death was well executed and one of the highlights of the season. lol fuck y’all suck.
yeah it's not like they didn't suffer. it was either that or two other things - they both give a one liner before being stabbed that ranges from cheeseball to passable OR - we get the millionth instance of say Cersei about to kill someone and then a sword punches through her head from behind for this show at this stage, their deaths are as good as we were gonna get lol
you should know better than to think this kinda comment is gonna do anything but cause dumb bickering around here
