Man, what an episode. Like Tyrion, I believed in Dany, but her gradual turn makes sense. Tyrion/Varys moment was heartbreaking. Jon/Dany scene the night before the battle was good. Arya/Sandor moment was great. And then the destruction...my goodness they really went for it. At first I was a little disappointed the scorpions weren't more threatening, but I buy that Drogon is better/faster than his brothers and that he learned from V's death. All the sequences of Arya trying to escape the city were so intense and terrifying. Loved it. Was hoping for something different with Jaime/Cersei, but I guess it's a fitting ending. The score continues to be amazing. Ramin Djawadi has really been killing it these past few seasons.
Everyone told you not to hope for that! I am honestly surprised that they are willing to go for an ending that is so not safe as far as a lot of the characters go. I guess the books must have something to do with that of course, but part of me was really convinced that they would keep portraying Dany as the hero at the very least.
At least they made him look like a physical being and not that abomination from years ago. That already is so dated.
I think Maisie Williams killed it this ep too. Emilia Clarke has been great this season. A lot of the actors are delivering their strongest performances for this last season. Dinklage, Headey, and Conleth Hill have always been great, of course.
