this was the funniest episode in a long time until the last like seven minutes. lots of actual laugh-worthy moments.

honestly bran's actions are pretty fucked up morally, he essentially destroyed Wyllas' agency and then forced him to commit suicide. Not exactly "hero" material.

 

i think the three eyed ravens death was pretty shocking, honestly more than hodors. definitely expected him to stick around longer / have a massive role towards the end of the show

 

Guys. I just realized that Hodor would likely have been reanimated as a wight....... We're going to see him again.

 

Somehow I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Bran will be able to go back in time and talk with him some more?

i was wondering about that too. i really hope thats not the last we see of him, but him fading away/melting/whatever made it seem pretty final

 

I loved the brief moment where the Ironborn Captains all stood around sheepishly as they thought they'd actually drowned Euron.

 

If I was stuck in a tree for thousands of years I'd be begging someone to come strike me down.

 

lol true. Tormund giving Brienne another look, Brienne going meta with the critique of Jon (huge wink to everyone there IMO), Ed going "I'm not the Lord Commander.................................yet", Tyrion garbling Dany's titles "...all that!" haha

 

the brienne line about jon being brooding was probably my favorite this season. hysterical

 

I dunno, he can transport to anywhere he wants any time through the Weirnet....it's like having access to a TV with 1 million channels and tons of free porn!

 

There was a part of me hoping that was it as well. Would have been hilarious.

 

If that is the case, I hope it is Sansa who takes him out.

 

I really enjoy the comedic stuff they're throwing in, but I'm starting to think it's getting a bit too much.

 

Can we talk about how good that play was though?

 

Possible. Although I'd imagine that getting ripped apart from arms reaching through a door would leave you in too many pieces to form a functional reanimated body.

 

Loved how they made Ned a Cockney type dude.

 

Witnessing that play at a crucial juncture in her training is going to have a profound effect on who Arya ends up becoming.

 

Not sure if there is room in the CGI budget, but could you imagine a wight Summer?

 

Gotta be honest though the way Arya's hair is done up there is not a good look for her.

Overall, it was just rushed. But you didn't find Sansa's scene with Littlefinger or Danny's scene with Jorah to be some of the most compelling of the season?

I don't think it stacks up with the great episodes of the first 3 seasons, but I certainly thought it the best of the past two.


Also, I still don't get the love for Brienne's character. I'm writing it off as being tied to her being a good character in the books.
