Tyrion: *makes another eunuch joke* Varys: Here’s my impression of the last time you were with a woman. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m trying to delete it.
This was actually from when everyone said they hadn’t seen any other TV shows and now I’m dead forever.
I'm still enjoying the show well enough, but also I read those leaks and lol if that's how this whole thing ends, yiikes
I was talking about this in PMs, and at this point I’m really glad that I read them because if they’re real I’m happy that I know ahead of time to peace out, and if they’re fake then the ending is almost guaranteed to impress me by default for not having it be THAT.
I feel like knowing ahead of time will help soften the disappointment if they are true whislt leaving open the possibility to be surprised if things play out differently.
I'm still hard skeptical about them. Idk how much faith I have left in the writers, but the stuff in that thread was almost nonsensical. that said if I'm wrong, hoo boy internet gonna be a wild for a couple days
My friends are all enjoying it. We complain about certain aspects here and there, but most of our discussion between episodes is gushing about the great moments, theorizing about the next ep, and sharing memes.
Oh yeah it would be a bloodbath. The ones from yesterday are the first that I really don’t buy at all, mostly out of sheer hope and will that they wouldn’t. Lol. The rest definitely seem to make “sense” even if they wouldn’t be satisfying in some ways. There’s also some discussion going on that maybe a few names are flipped throughout all of them, which would definitely make some parts more believable and less awful. There’s really only one thing mentioned so far that if it happens in any way I will be untethered and my rage will know no bounds.
I am not reading no spoilers don't know where they are and will not seek them out. But I think some things seem pretty 'predictable' at this point because of how much they've had to tip their hand with the fast moving plot. Like they laid on the on goodbyes to Jon pretty thick like he was gonna die, so I lean towards that def not happening now. I think Dany dying odds have gone up considerably after episode 4. CleganeBowl is happening. Cersei isn't making it out alive. Jaime is prob dying either killing Cersei or trying to get her out of the city to surrender and live. Tyrion....fuck man I didn't see any reason why he'd die but now with him and Varys openly talking treason, it's def set up for him to get caught somehow. Question is whether Dany lives long enough to catch him in the act. Arya still has a part to play but I have no idea what it is. I guessed a couple days ago that an impetus for Jon to kill Dany is if he finds out Arya is in the city while Dany is going all Mad Queen. If that happens, no way in hell Jon stays to take the throne. He either abdicates right away for a democratic resolution of some sort, or becomes Drogon char/food. No idea if anything "happens" with Sansa, she seems destined to be the Lady of Winterfell. I guess if Jon abdicates and a democratic thing happens, she could be part of the counsel or be elected leader or something. No idea what happens to Brienne and Pod either. I remember after Season 6 assuming that Cersei was gonna be the one to go full Mad Queen after what she did to the Sept of Baelor. But now I think Dany is more likely.
Also I know Arya is going to KL to kill Cersei obviously, I just don't know if she's successful there. Not sure how/why she would fail unless it happens before she gets there. But I WANT Jaime to do it so I'm kinda hoping she doesn't lol. Seeing her complete the revenge for the death of her parents and family and such would be good though.
This show has a lot problems and some of them are a result of trying to navigate unfinished source material that also had a lot of problems I’m enjoying watching it but it hasn’t been what I thought it was and hoped it could be quality-wise for like 3 or 4 seasons
Has anyone made a Robert Baratheon/Night King "You let that little girl disarm you" meme yet? someone should do that.
This is like the one plot point where I hope they go for emotion and character over logic and plot. Arya killing Cersei would be way less satisfying than Jaime doing it.
Lol literally the 5th picture in the google image search when I search "Robert Baratheon you let that little girl disarm you":
I'm enjoying this season as much as the last. It's definitely still flawed but to act like it's not flawed like the entire series has been flawed is baffling. A lot of the criticisms have been downright silly. But they're also mostly coming from the part of this fanbase that probably watches Walking Dead and shit too.
honestly it feels like people just want to pile on at this point. There's almost a mob mentality about it.
Same people who were always "i AcTuAlLy DoN't WaTcH GaMe Of ThRoNeS!1!1!!!!!111" are now the ones watching the final season to make memes and get likes and retweets. Of course there are legit things to criticize about it, but at this point it's become more of a sport to absolutely shit on everything going on with it.
I feel like a lot of it is an emperor has no clothes kind of situation. Like a lot of different kinds of fans had been hanging different kinds of hopes (theories, ships, whatever) on the ending, and the last two episodes have shot most of that down in one way or another, so it’s led to a lot of scrambling. I’ve seen hardcore book fans and super casual popcorn watchers alike express fear that the things they had excused or not been into might not be misdirection or foreshadowing or whatever and won’t necessarily pay off.
