I think it’s just the walkers that explode and the wights that lose their “life force”. Don’t remember them all disappearing before, but I could be wrong.
Oh, I think you're right. I seem to remember the wight skeletons just collapsing into pieces onto the ground last season in that mission beyond the wall when they lured them all to a campfire.
Man, the disdain these people have shown for the fans the past week or two has been brutal. At least the cast is still adorable and appreciative.
This is what I was talking about earlier!!! Of all the crazy special effect / CGI things that happen, he's straight-face saying it was impossible to have a guy pet a big wolf...?!?!? We watched a blue-eyed undead ice dragon use his blue fire to melt a 300-mile-long 700-foot-tall magic wall made out of ice and rock.
Not just talking about Game of Thrones here but more just all filmed media in general, I have noticed some filmmakers losing touch with some of the old-school, non-CGI-enhanced techniques and tricks. I am sure David Nutter is a smart guy and knows a lot about filmmaking and that one quote is making him sound really dumb, but that quote really reads like there was NO OTHER POSSIBLE WAY to have Jon Snow pet Ghost other than an elaborate, expensive, CGI, green-screen setup. Like I said, have someone hold a white furry blanket just off camera catching the edge of the frame and play the scene on Kit Harington's face.
EXACTLY!!!!! Its not like Ghost was cut completely out of the episode for budget reasons - he was there! It really reads like they just didn't feel like going through the hassle of getting them both in frame. Which is kinda dumb because I have thought og at least two dozen easy cheap ways they could have done it. Also, I will stop ranting about this now, but this little scene being missed but having people flying on dragons and battling in the air is what a lot of people are talking about with the rushed last couple seasons. A lot of the little moments that made the show great are being left behind in the rush to the finish line. We are hitting the major action-packed scenes which is entertaining in the moment and really giving things that summer blockbuster feel but some of the stuff that made people really love the show is getting lost in the mad dash.
I also have to say that it really rubs me the wrong way to hear someone who is working on a show with per episode budgets larger than what many shows cost during entire seasons (or full series runs) talk about not having the money or wanting to put in the work to tell the story correctly. That’s just such a slap in the face.
Yeah that was because they were just skeletons with no flesh or muscles to keep them together by that point lol
All the talk about how poorly they did with women last week reminded me that these guys are seriously creating an alt-history series about if the Confederacy didn’t lose lmao it’s going to be such a fucking mess
There are leaks for this Sunday and if it’s even remotely true then FUCK the writers because that is disgusting.
I’m going to be so mad if that show actually gets off the ground. I really hope that however these last two episodes go, HBO realizes that idea needs to die hard and fast. The thought of it at all was disgusting when I first read about it, but after seeing the way they handle themselves here I’m just in awe of how bad it would be.
I will be very surprised if this show isn't just buried and forgotten about. At the moment at least it seems like they read / heard what people were saying and realized that this was not a good idea.
It somehow survived the initial round of mass criticism when it was announced, and GOT has probably been the most successful HBO show ever. So I imagine HBO is willing to let them do whatever they want at this point.
Confederate Delay Is Independent of Controversy, HBO Boss Says Only on hold because D&D have other Star Wars commitments. HBO is ready to roll with it whenever
Regarding the CGI, as good as the visuals are in this show, there are quite a few inconsistencies and goofs. Scroll fast if you don't wanna get mad.
Wow. That is much different than I thought. I really thought they announced a delay and put it on hold with every intention of burying it deep... That reads like if Benioff & Weiss decided to tell Star Wars to fuck off tomorrow and had scripts ready to go that would be moving forward right away.
