Your comment was just getting caught up on the word arrow and me not using the proper term of the bolt.
Dragons aren’t invincible. We’ve seen one die from an ice spear thrown from the ground up a few hundred feet.
Don’t think either of you have actually checked reddit today if you think anything here is close to that level. They are in full, apoplectic meltdown.
Tryna type up my thoughts while they are fresh -The Winterfell shit was great honestly. Loved that we finally got our Sansa/Hound moment. Poor drunk on good news/actually drunk Gendry, poor Tormund, but also lmao drunk Tormund. The smile from Pod was great. Really loved Jon getting all the love and the focus on Dany feeling/being alone and realizing they love him more than her. But also makes me worried. Between that and later in the episode, she really might go all Mad Queen (but, as I said, after the end there I am all for it right now. At least until Cersei is burnt to a crisp) -The opening funeral scene was tough, Jon's speech was great, he almost sounded like a different person. He sounded like a Lord, you know? Not sure if htat makes sense. Kinda wish he emoted a bit more when he saw Lyanna's body but still. Sad scene. -Jaime and Brienne! Poor Brienne is finally loved but he can't stop loving his sister. I think he wants to try and stop/save Cersei, but when he finds out Cersei is telling people it's Euron's baby, he's gonna get all pissed. Could this be the moment he kills her? -The Hound and Arya ride again! Deadliest duo in the Planetos. Unfortunately they won't show us what crazy deadly hi-jinks they get up to on the Kingsroad, but those two rolling up to Kings Landing to save the day is gonna be the shit. -Sansa...not sure what her plan is here. She seems really truly bothered by the jAegon news, and tells Tyrion...obviously wants to turn him to Jon's side. She's now actively scheming to put Jon on the Iron Throne which is...interesting. -omfggggg I've been getting so attached to Rhaegal ever since he let out that yelp of sadness for his brother when the NK took down Viserion. Then they let Jon ride him.....and now this. ugh. He was just healing up, Dany and Drogon were both so excited and happy to see him flying again. Ugggggggh. Good boy Rhaegal. Which reminds me... -JON PET THAT FUCKING GOOD BOY PUP GODDAMNIT YOU DON'T HAVE A DRAGON ANYMORE. Poor Ghost....it really sucks that they aren't gonna let him tear some shit up in the south. I hope Jon gets to see him again and gives him some right proper love. -Jeeeeesus Missandei. Was not expecting her to die after she made it through the Long Night. So fucking brutal. Great acting by Grey Worm though with the facial expressions and such. It's so weird to see an Unsullied have emotions and he's done a good job portraying that slow transition to finally have it explode this episode. Poor Missandei ...She was one of the few legit good people in this world, her and Davos. She deserved better. -As stated before I am on team #burnthemall for now but it's mostly because I want revenge, so if we can just burn SOME of them, that's cool too, as long as it's the right some of them. But fuck Cersei and especially fuck Euron the pirate shithead. -I'm sure I'm forgetting other shit but yeah.
No I just don’t understand why it’s dumb that a device created, by a guy who can reanimate the dead, to be able to kill dragons can kill a dragon.
i would never go on before the ep because i dont want to walk right into spoilers but the post ep discussions on there is some of the most balanced/enjoyable talk i find
The device was sitting in the basement of the red keep forever wasn't it? They just decided to manufacture a bunch. Dragons existed and we're killed in the past I assume.
That’s not my issue. My issue is the ease of its effectiveness. The dragons have been shown up and the threat diminished.
This episode, like all that came before it this season, was great. It seems crazy to accept the fact that a dragon even exists, but criticize a strategy formulated to kill it. I can’t wait for next week.
Opinions aside, I think people need to at least agree this is a very different show than Season 1-4. Different dialogue, writing, actions, consequences, set ups, payoffs, realistic results based on previously set up standards, etc. You're absolutely free to enjoy it and more power to you. I just can't help but feel disappointed. I know this show isn't Mad Men or Breaking Bad or The Wire and it's got dragons and tits and shit. But idk...I'm sad. It feels so alien now. And it's clear it's writers filling in stuff after they've run out of source material.
Goddamn I was worried they wouldn’t be able to keep me as interested after the NK was defeated but I felt way more tense this ep than last
They love their callbacks, so redoing that scene where he saw him again would have been perfectly up their alley. But nooooo. At least Tormund will snuggle him and tell him weird stories, but Jon just abandoning him without emotion is plain weird.
I thought qyburn brought cersei down to the basement to show it to her but I assumed it existed and was just collecting dust.
