When they first crashed I thought the NK showed up and HE had crashed into Jon and I cracked up.

Oops, I was actually thinking of the original scene with the OG NK where his mouth is open when he turns the Crastor baby into a WW. I thought I remembered there being a slight smirk to his face in hardhome though, but maybe I'm thinking of the kind of perplexed look he had when Jon killed his WW soldier.

That WW soldier had some pretty expressive faces too, especially the look of shock when Longclaw didn't shatter.

The post Season 5 NK I swear I remember him smirking at one point too but maybe not.

I defended the show for not being much too dark because I thought I could see what was happening - but if you asked me to describe what went down between the 3 people on dragons I would only be able to say "dark clusterfuck".....

See I saw all of that on first watch. Saw it even better on the re-watch after I adjusted my TV off the energy saver haha.

I cringed during that scene I hated seeing Rhaegal get hurt and fighting his broski :(

I'm sure that the better/newer the TV you have the better it looked, obviously, but it is bullshit that a stream/TV I've never had issues even close to this before with this show or any other suddenly is a near complete failure visually.

I personally did not fixate on the darkness of the episode until I watched the behind the scenes special. Just seeing all of the extensive, grueling, time and money consuming filming/editing techniques the whole cast and crew utilized to make this episode... It just bummed me out that so much of it was undermined and underappreciated.

The parts of the dragon flights that I couldn't see well were just when they were flying around, trying to figure out which dragon/dragonrider it was was really hard.

But that also might have been their intention, to give you an idea of what Dany and Jon were seeing up there or something.

Once the fight started I kept up with it as much as I could, the fast cuts/editing made it tough at times but for a majority of the fight I knew who was who because they did a decent job of illuminating the background so you could see the holes in Viserion's wings. Once they went in on the close up of the claws clutching and scratching at each other, at that point I couldn't tell who was getting hurt. I just assumed Rhaegal was taking some damage and then he crash landed a bit so he must of.

Jesus you guys were that bothered by my sarcastic talk about the Night King and Cersei? Sarcasm!

I'm gonna just start leaving voice recordings for posts so context is there.

He's been opening his mouth and doing small facial expressions for a while now. I just don't think we ever took too much notice until you look at them back to back.

Yeah, I was gonna say I distinctly remember a flared nostril look he's done at some point.

He also wanted to hold Bran's hand. That's an emotion for sure.

All these defenses and no one mentioning his artistic soul. I won’t stand for it. Give me that spinoff yesterday.

That first one is 100% when the wights are failing at doing the correct creepy pattern and it’s been hours and he wishes he had competent help.

Even though they did a fine job of making The Night King look a lot more menacing in The Long Night than he did in Beyond The Wall - TNK has never looked as scary as he did in Hardhome.

Agreed completely. Him standing on the dock keeping his hands up like "what ya gonna do now Snow?" was the most dread i'd felt since The Red Wedding.

All these screenshots back to back are painful. It was a real botch job.

He really should have invested in some better coverage in his armor too. What a bozo way to lose.

Their armor means nothing if Valyrian steel touches them. When Jon swung his sword at the White Walker in Hardhome, he shattered immediately on impact and he wasn't hit with a stab motion but a slice to his side if i'm not mistaken. Their achilles heel was seemingly pretty easy to exploit, people just didn't have a lot of Valyrian steel.

I definitely agree. Looking at all those screenshots, Hardhome is the best and scariest look.
