I do love everyone being impatient about "whens bran gonna fly!?" as if the mofo hasnt been warging into birds for forever

 

Oh i know. They mentioned it a lot. I just mean as a criticism saying it wasnt as good as helms deep says nothing haha

 

To be fair, all the mysterious fantasy stuff is the main reason I liked the show so far and without it, it’s nkt nearly as appealing to me.

 

What about saying it isn’t even the best battle of the show? Lol.

 

There may not have been that many main character deaths, but it looked like said main characters were pretty much the only survivors by the end. I'm curious where they get all of the people on those ships in the preview of next week's episode.

The biggest question left for me is whether or not we'll see Robin Arryn again before the end. He's my dark horse choice to rule at the end, but that's a tall order if they don't ever show him again.

 

What would his claim be? Everyone else on the show dies and he's the highest-born lord left alive? haha

 

The shots where literally EVERYONE is dead on the ground except for people we know by name were unintentionally almost hilarious.

The actors are so precious with each other.

 

Exactly. haha. This is kind of what I was getting at earlier with my post about the White Walkers in the battle. Had some of the main characters taken them on instead of fighting endless wights, it would have been more believable that at least some of them somehow survived (not having been in the middle of the entire battle).

But seeing thousands of people all dying in the same circumstances which only the important characters inexplicably survived through.....I'm just like "Oh, okay, I guess"

 

He'll make anyone with a dissenting opinion fly. And they've said the ending will be "bittersweet," and Robin ruling would certainly qualify as that for many people. I could also see them doing it because his father's death is the event which set this entire story in motion, so it would be kind of poetic in a way.

I mentioned that Robin is my dark horse favorite. My number one hope is that Arya kills Cersei to finish her list, reveals herself to have been the waif the whole time, and then runs to the empty throne.

So. Many. Bodies. And there's at least fifteen ships with Targaryen sails in that clip for next week, though you can't really make out who is on them. Maybe each ship has only a single character on board?

 

What if Dany sails back to Mereen and picks up Daario and the rest of the Second Sons?

 

Daario infiltrating the GC makes sense to me tbh

 

If Daario shows up again will he have a new actor?

 

I'm still baffled that the night king is already dead. He basically became filler for Season 8. I was much more interested in their continued struggle with the walkers than Cersei being the antagonist again.

 

I hope not because the last one is a handsome mf

I'm still mad the show was too cowardly to give Daario the purple hair and beard and blonde mustache he deserves

 

Ooh, I like that. Having the last big battle to determine who rules Westeros fought by two mercenary companies from an entirely different continent would be pretty fantastic. Also, any excuse to get more Daario on the show is ok by me.

And honestly, I don't know how they stand a chance without something like that. Yeah, they have dragons, but Qyburn will definitely have built more ballistas (and there's one in the new intro, as well...).

A lot of named characters died, it’s not like every single character lived, we just kind of knew at least two of them were def dying (Jorah, Theon) so it doesn’t feel as shocking as some past deaths do.

I’m still feeling the Edd and Lyanna losses too. Two of my favorite small characters.

Admittedly, there were less main character deaths than I thought there were going to be, but it wasn't something that upset me. Jorah has been one of my favorite characters the entire time, so that one hit hard, and I thought Lyanna's death was so badass and I was upset to see her go too.

The 'plot armor' thing has never really bothered me because I kind of just accept that it is the only way we get to watch a story and not just have the person/people we have known the whole time get dropped by an arrow 17 seconds into the battle or die of an infection before the battle even starts. That being said though, they probably did err a bit on the side of making it look a little too much like main characters were about to die or were dead only to have them be perfectly fine. It didn't personally bother me, but if someone had that complaint or it did bother them I could totally see that.

*Edited to add that after watching this episode I definitely feel like Daenerys should:
A) Put some kind of armor or protection on her dragons &
B) Wear some damn armor herself when she's flying around on them

 

Yeah. thats what he needs, to be even more attractive
