The possibilities for crossover are endless. I already made my Trojan joke earlier. More must be done.

Yeah I don't get the complaint at all. Don't know why you would want good characters/characters you like to die haha

"Man, sucks I spent seven years with this character and they didn't die horribly."

Also, not sure I saw this mentioned, Brienne's screams of anguish were worse than any death in this episode.

When that first wave of wights came rushing in I thought for sure Sam and Brienne were goners.

Yeah, for sure. If them dying serve a huge purpose to the story or development of other characters, sure. But imagine if that episode was the same but Brienne died in that battle. Pretty shallow, imo

I definitely hope that everyone living through this has a point/resolution/they survive totally/something, because arbitrarily deciding that they survived an absolute guaranteed death trap simply because it’s episode 3 instead of episode 5 or 6 is not a good look. Like we said earlier today, if some random Golden Company jabroni takes out Brienne or Grey Worm it will just be terrible after their survival was handwaved in this.

Jon: How do you know she's a witch?
    Davos:...SHE LOOKS LIKE ONE!

  11. War and battles are random and should be written that way in my opinion. Of course all the main characters were going to survive, but statistically speaking it's nonsense imo.

I will say I wish there was better writing in that it wouldn’t be so preposterous that they’d survive and that if they chose to kill characters, it would go on to rich, developing growth and stories. But I don’t expect that from GoT as much at this point.

Still an entertaining show with plenty of fun or touching moments.

  13. Why is everyone assuming that I wanted the characters to have shittily written deaths lol

Statistically speaking they lost almost their entire army so idk what people are complaining about

I also really wish they had actually shown us some of the escapes and close calls for more characters. Jon surviving BOTB was pretty ridiculous, but at least that long sequence of him almost being trampled put you through the whole situation with him. There were so many moments in this one where people are completely surrounded and overwhelmed and then five minutes later they’re in an entirely different location and totally fine.

They aren't like zombies that are diseased. They're just raised from the dead.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

A lot of people tout the "realism" of this series and yeah nearly all of the important characters all surviving the most important and deadly battle in history flies in the face of "realism" but narrative and thematic import matters more.

People also tout the way the series subverts expectations and killing off characters who seem like they have more to their arc left could be subversive if handled the right way. It's not like this story hasn't done it before.

So yeah two big components to this series haven't really come to play in the show's biggest battle ever. I personally don't mind, but I get why it stands out to people

I still love that Sam was just weeping openly on a pile of bodies and somehow made it out. Truly my hero.

Where in the neck. People have been shot and stabbed in the neck and survived.
