This was established. Bran is the world's memory, the NK wants to erase memory and man from the world to make the Long Night.

I'm 99% sure we'll see something like this next episode.

    There are still 3 episodes.

There was never any proof that it was going to be a "prince", it was clearly established that there was no gender specific pronoun in Valyrian, so it could have been a princess as well.

And she's been training with her left hand since the beginning of the show because Arya is left-handed, but Maisie is right-handed.

  3. That's an awful reason to make decisions for this show lol. Even if they didn't they should and the show should be trying to get them to

I had to look up who Bowen Marsh was and I imagine I will need to do that another thousand times if I'm ever able to read TWOW

  6. I was hoping to meet Howland Reed this season. Figured him and Meera would head to Winterfell. I hope this doesn’t mean they’re dead

Man, they also changed the whole plot line with alys karstark’s marriage too, which is a wild one
I can’t imagine we meet howland reed now, with 3 episodes left

I just think in the books, it was a lot easier to see Jon's reasoning and to sympathize with it, and I don't know if there was much they could have done to make Jon seem somehow "bad" in the show other than directing Kit to act like a total Dick when he says/decides things haha.

But in the books you're in Jon's head and even though it's "wrong" honor-wise, the reader can still more or less understand why he's doing it. It's like everything people wish Ned would have done for the right reasons even if it wasn't 'honorable"

for what it's worth, the location of House Reed is south of Winterfell I think, so they're probably all fine

THough I should add that obviously I wish they did the North storyline as intricate as it was in the books, with Bael The Bard and Jon getting the Pink Letter pre-ressurection and the Grand Northern Conspiracy and etc....obviously that would have been better than what we got. But I don't necessarily think it would have made Jon less of a 'good guy' in most people's eys because they'd pretty much all agree with his actions, or at least the reasons for his actions.

I can’t remember what morally dubious things he does in the books

    Edit: just saw your follow-up

Someone should have told the NK about books.

Can we just talk about how awesome the intro was again this week, with the Winterfell defenses/fire trench/etc in there.

I am gonna miss watching the blue squares advance south

  14. I bet Mance Rayder was jealous at the size of that trench fire

Also, I'm a basic bitch when it comes to knowing anything about TV settings, but we had ours on energy saver last night (I think?), and HBO is replaying it now so I switched it to vivid and it's def way better visually.

  17. Can't wait till a much more faithful adaptation of this gets made in 20 years and this time the anime won't be ahead of the manga

My god that Tyrion/Sansa scene tho. I can’t even begin to describe the emotion I felt between their connection in that moment.

So many years of character building and relationships really paid off in this episode. Theon, Jorah/Dany, Tyrion/Sansa, Arya especially. I am so looking forward to rewatching this tonight.

The giant bar they have a few feet below the top of the castle walls with dragonglass on them is a pretty cool touch/good idea, but it also seems like it wasn't working, I didn't notice any of the wights dying as they climbed over them.
