Someone should have told the NK about books.

Can we just talk about how awesome the intro was again this week, with the Winterfell defenses/fire trench/etc in there.

I am gonna miss watching the blue squares advance south

  3. I bet Mance Rayder was jealous at the size of that trench fire

Also, I'm a basic bitch when it comes to knowing anything about TV settings, but we had ours on energy saver last night (I think?), and HBO is replaying it now so I switched it to vivid and it's def way better visually.

  6. Can't wait till a much more faithful adaptation of this gets made in 20 years and this time the anime won't be ahead of the manga

  7. You all thought it too.

My god that Tyrion/Sansa scene tho. I can’t even begin to describe the emotion I felt between their connection in that moment.

So many years of character building and relationships really paid off in this episode. Theon, Jorah/Dany, Tyrion/Sansa, Arya especially. I am so looking forward to rewatching this tonight.

The giant bar they have a few feet below the top of the castle walls with dragonglass on them is a pretty cool touch/good idea, but it also seems like it wasn't working, I didn't notice any of the wights dying as they climbed over them.

I mean, whoever would be willing to fund it would know it has a dedicated fan base now, so maybe they'd be willing to pour the money into it needed.

But I'd have a hard time imagining anyone else playing most of these characters.

  16. Yeah I think they’d be at risk of fan revolt if any characters are too different

Eh, they're gonna reboot it eventually. It's just how media works, regardless of how passionate/large the fanbase for the original is

  18. It can't happen before the books are finished or GRRM dies, that would be fucking dumb

  19. I just rewatched and really my only criticism is that it feels like more people should've died which I know is the annoying nitpick of this show for the last 4 years or whatever but seriously at least one legitimate major character should've died it really feels like. I still love that all the prophecies and theories were wrong and Arya killed the NK, can't imagine arguing that that isn't cool and thus that this ep was not as good

You could argue Theon has been a major character throughout the show. Fallen off a bit the last few seasons but he has been a major character for most of it.

Alfie Allen didn't carry this god damn show for eight years to be called a non-major character.

And Jorah also died. Two characters from the pilot. Three from the first season. I'd call that significant.

My biggest complaint is that the longest episode of the series wasn’t long enough.

    They couldn't kill:
    Dany
    Jon
    Tyrion
    Sansa
    Arya
The Hound (needs to kill Gregor)
    Jaime
    Bran

But anyone else was fair game imo. This would have been a good send-off ep for Tormund and Brienne/Pod

  25. I feel like people who died aren't tier 1 or tier 2 major characters at this point in the show. Feel like someone at least Brienne tier major should've died. I guess Theon could be that level but in that case two from that level should've died. I mean almost every single major character in the series was present and almost died like 8 different ways, it really felt light on deaths given how many people were there and how much danger they were all in. It doesn't make it a bad episode or anything
