Didn't one of the directors mention that the direwolves do some pretty insane stuff during battle? So, presumably, we get more Ghost and maybe Nymeria with her pack as they go after Cersei?

can't wait for a character that I love, who just survived basically the end of the world, to be killed by corny ass Euron so I can hate this show forever

Hard same. Nothing involving him or the Golden Company will be satisfying after what they just went through. Some personal deaths involving Cersei herself could be good, but if anyone major just dies because of that loser it’s gonna be a rough night for the internet.

  4. Sapochnik also directed episode 5 so it’s likely that’s the battle of Kings Landing. I really hope we get to see that though

I hope so. Though it still blows my mind that they can pull of a dragon fight but still struggle so mightily with the CGI for the wolves—specifically, their size.

Theon's death was definitely my favourite part of that episode. We've known him since the very beginning and have watched him make terrible mistakes and be terribly punished for those mistakes. Seeing him basically sacrifice himself for his true family and his true home was very sad and rewarding. It was very fitting and probably the most emotional I've been watching this show.

As for the rest of the episode, I did really enjoy it. It was quite a spectacle even if I couldn't really see shit the first time I watched it. I don't really know how I feel about Arya killing the Night King. I feel like I'll like it more on subsequent rewatches. Arya is pretty awesome though, and I'm excited for the last half of the show to just deal with the throne now. I hope something shocking happens though, just for the sake of being shocked hahaha

I feel like the last 2 seasons have just been total fan service with the huge battles and the crazy production values, but they don't satisfy they same way the early seasons did. Last night's episode was the epitome of how I feel about the recent seasons, which is to say it felt oddly hollow even if it looked cool.

  12. gonna be honest guys im pretty upset that no one seems to realize that arya killing the night king means that it wasn't azor azai or the prince that was promised which means those prophecies which have been the catalyst for basically every fan theory about the show and books for 25 years dont matter literally at all. r+l=j doesnt matter lol its so sick

Me watching book readers and theorizers set themselves on fire in agony when I’m just here to have a good time for six weeks.

  14. you didnt have to read the books or read fan theories to understand this at all lol, the azor azai/ptwp prophecies are like the entire thing that makes jon important to the series

  15. Don't worry, people have quickly moved onto a "Bran is the Lord of Light" theory.

I'm still holding out hope that Varys is merman and the final battle is actually the landfolk vs the seafolk

I'm having a very slow work day and took a few to jump around the old pages of this thread. Dying laughing at people in 2016 saying the show sucked and is terrible because a 2 bloodhound dogs sent after Sansa disappeared and weren't confirmed killed. Them being scared by horses wasn't "good enough" Hilarious. We suck.

  18. Hopefully the last episode is just Bronn traveling north with a crossbow and he gets to an abandoned Winterfell and is just like "y'know what? Fuck it. This is my Castle now"

It’s veeerrrrry funny. Poor Jon just wants to be left alone and now there isn’t even a prophecy to make excuses for him needing to continue. Let him go off and start a farm or something.

I don't know, just because it's subverted doesn't automatically make it good like you guys seem to be suggesting. I don't think I have a problem with Arya killing the Night King but it's not just because "lol get fucked u all thought one thing was happening and now it didn't so that makes it better!!"

People are allowed to take time to come up with how they feel about things, doesn't mean they're not getting it or something

Its what I've been hoping for the whole time, assassin Arya just ends up killing everyone. Her story just hasn't felt the same since the jumbled story of her assassin training imo, which is probably the fault of the show outpacing the books there.

  24. its great, its the perfect encapsulation of what the entire point of the series has been since ned stark got executed, which is to constantly subvert every fantasy trope and learned expectation you have. i'm 99% sure its more or less exactly what grrm's vision is

PLEASE. He hasn’t done anything all season, this would make up for that. Time to get real silly.
