Yeah unless it’s a funeral pyre, I don’t see the need.

I figure it's both for that reason and a symbolic thing, so I could see them doing it anyways out of respect and tradition.

Dealing with 100,000 zombie corpses would be so gross.

Crazy to think back to season one and realize Jon Arryn is maybe the apotheosis of fridged characters

  10. pretty cool how the show spent the last 3 years building up azor azai and r+l=j and the prince that was promised as things that actually mattered and then just had arya kill the night king by being a badass and the prince that was promised doesnt matter literally at all lmao. and i mean that genuinely, its the best 'twist' the show has ever done and im pretty sure it came straight from GRRM and is his ultimate achievement in subverting fantasy expectations

Arya slit both people who were
responsible for almost all of the suffering in the entire show.

Didn't one of the directors mention that the direwolves do some pretty insane stuff during battle? So, presumably, we get more Ghost and maybe Nymeria with her pack as they go after Cersei?

can't wait for a character that I love, who just survived basically the end of the world, to be killed by corny ass Euron so I can hate this show forever

Hard same. Nothing involving him or the Golden Company will be satisfying after what they just went through. Some personal deaths involving Cersei herself could be good, but if anyone major just dies because of that loser it’s gonna be a rough night for the internet.

  15. Sapochnik also directed episode 5 so it’s likely that’s the battle of Kings Landing. I really hope we get to see that though

I hope so. Though it still blows my mind that they can pull of a dragon fight but still struggle so mightily with the CGI for the wolves—specifically, their size.

Theon's death was definitely my favourite part of that episode. We've known him since the very beginning and have watched him make terrible mistakes and be terribly punished for those mistakes. Seeing him basically sacrifice himself for his true family and his true home was very sad and rewarding. It was very fitting and probably the most emotional I've been watching this show.

As for the rest of the episode, I did really enjoy it. It was quite a spectacle even if I couldn't really see shit the first time I watched it. I don't really know how I feel about Arya killing the Night King. I feel like I'll like it more on subsequent rewatches. Arya is pretty awesome though, and I'm excited for the last half of the show to just deal with the throne now. I hope something shocking happens though, just for the sake of being shocked hahaha

I feel like the last 2 seasons have just been total fan service with the huge battles and the crazy production values, but they don't satisfy they same way the early seasons did. Last night's episode was the epitome of how I feel about the recent seasons, which is to say it felt oddly hollow even if it looked cool.

  23. gonna be honest guys im pretty upset that no one seems to realize that arya killing the night king means that it wasn't azor azai or the prince that was promised which means those prophecies which have been the catalyst for basically every fan theory about the show and books for 25 years dont matter literally at all. r+l=j doesnt matter lol its so sick

Me watching book readers and theorizers set themselves on fire in agony when I’m just here to have a good time for six weeks.

  25. you didnt have to read the books or read fan theories to understand this at all lol, the azor azai/ptwp prophecies are like the entire thing that makes jon important to the series
