catching up on this thread, this has been the best story arc I've seen lately, including last nights ep.
I very much thought the Night King was just going straight on to King's Landing and what we were seeing was just a small off-shoot sent to deal with a minor annoyance from his POV. I also did not pick up on the fact that the White Walkers did the windy blizzard snowstorm. I just thought it happened to kick in when Jon was flying by looking at them. All the stuff with the darkness and them not being able to see was extremely well done. The shot of the Dothraki torches slowly winking out was super creative and an awesome touch, even though that scene bothered the hell out of me from a strategy standpoint.
I don't think so. I think they set it up with her being able to move/creep around so silently, and also being extremely quick, that we're just supposed to accept that she was able to put those skills to work while everyone was focused on Bran. But the first scene with Jon where he mentions her sneaking up on him silently, her moving about the library in complete silence, plus all that damn training we (thought we) wasted two seasons on haha I really gotta rewatch so I can watch the hair on that one White Walker move again as she presumably goes flying by him
What will be the next line of dialogue from previous seasons that will reappear in cringe worthy fashion in the next episode?
What a disappointment this show is turning out to be, just leaving me wondering what could've been. If they had spent just a tiny fraction of their cgi budget on some decent writing, they could have wrapped this show up nicely.
I loved how it was just quiet and chilling when you know what we are looking at is hellish and violent for the people over there.
I have to be Vic Vinegar so you know when I’m Hugh Honey that they actually got me good. The campfire slumber party genuinely was one of my favorite moments in the whole show. Mostly because 90% of the people I love were in that room.
I'm witholding final judgment until I see how the last few episodes play out. But David Benioff actually wrote one of my favorite books, City of Thieves. Just such a great story and well written book.
Hey if myself and 12 other friends can jump up screaming "holy shit" and "oh my god" at the ending of a television show ... that's all I can ask for. They did it right, I had a reaction, and I was completely entertained.
In an indirect way, Ramsay is responsible for Lyanna’s death. Even in death he continues to be the absolute woooooorst.
Also, there were a lot less deaths of major characters than I thought there were going to be heading in, but they did kill off my personal favorite character on the show, and I thought the ones they did have were all very well done.
This episode really cemented Arya as my favorite character. Not just the obvious reason though, that scene where she’s just tearing through Wights in the castle with her staff was the best!
Also I feel like the entire thing with Lyanna is meant to foreshadow the ending. Except Arya made it out in better shape.
Yeah, I did a proper GET IN THERE at Arya taking out NK. Probably would have done more, but I was watching through tears, so wasn't totally with it haha
I think Tyrion will always be my favorite character on the show but Arya has been a close second for pretty much the entire run of the series.
