I really hope all the Bran/raven/NK stuff isn't something they just explain in books or spinoff prequels or whatever. That would feel like bullshit to me.
I’ve always had trouble deciphering the three dragons apart based on their colors, but when (I think Drogon) was overrun by wights and took off that I thought he had died. When the undead Dragon landed on the castle and starting destroying it, I thought that was him showing up and that the Undead one had died when Dany attacked and knocked the Night King to the ground. But on a re-watch it’s clearly the same dragon with its face half gone staring at Jon.
I honestly wanted the show to end with the white walkers winning and every other insignificant silly human to be destroyed. Fuck their politics; none of their bullshit matters anyway - especially now.
I'm totally fine with no other White Walkers being killed during the battle. Could have been cool to see one or two of them in the fray, but there really was zero need for them to be there. Their army of wights was so large they were completely overwhelming the forces at Winterfell. I mean, the battle was lost until Arya took out the Night King, and that was their entire plan from the start. Try to tempt the Night King out into the open with Bran so someone could shoot their shot.
Oh I just mean about them being her brothers. I truly can’t remember if they knew the sacrifices became walkers or not. Been so long since I watched the part with her terrible father.
I remember people saying that Massie Williams should play Ellie in a "The Last of Us" movie so thats immediately where my mind went during the library scene.
I also made the rookie mistake of assuming Viserion had died once Drogon damn near ripped his head off. When the dragon landed and was splitting blue fire all over the place my heart sunk because I thought the same thing you did: Drogon had died trying to get all those wights off of him. But once I saw the blue fire leaking from the neck and the eye and etc. I realized that it was the injuries Drogon had given Viserion when they fought. It took me like 10 seconds though, and I was so mad at myself for not realizing that Viserion hadn't been burned, stabbed by dragonglass, or valyrian steel, so of course he didn't actually "die".
@EASheartsVinyl No one is banned from criticism, and that was never my intention to make you feel that way. I apologize, I just felt like I’ve been watching you club a dead horse for weeks now.
Just remembered my favorite scene was when Sansa and Tyrion were hiding in the crypt and they held hands and he kissed hers. Very nice moment.
I didn’t get my Goblet of Fire dragon duel and I’m mad. So many HP influences but not that one! I think the scene with Jon towards the end hiding was the closest, with blue flames at the top and regular at the bottom of the frame. Also I’m really sad that we won’t see that blue fire in general anymore. It’s so pretty. I really wanted to see it against some wildfire, the other prettiest thing they do.
Yeah that was the absolute most human moment of the episode for me (in the crypt), next to Greyworm’s anxiety at the gates. They both had a moment of acceptance that their politics and abilities were useless, and they’d be the last people they’d both see alive. Peter Dinklage being able to say so much with a look is really something.
Look, I just don’t want to get yelled at again! That plot was honestly the only thing that I truly took issue with last night.
Also how gut-wrenching is it to have both Jorah and Beric go to say something on their deathbeds just to not be able to say it and stop breathing. Savagery for everyone.
I was expecting a big twist where we find out the Night King took his dragon and the Walkers to King's Landing instead, which in retrospect would've been much better strategically on his part. The wights obviously were doing their job, and their defeat was only possible because the NK was there to kill. Though, I suppose he didn't see wars in the same terms as humans, and he just wanted to kill Bran as soon as he could. That was one of my favorite scenes, along with their earlier exchange. It would be kind of funny if they end up together, though I'm not convinced Tyrion survives, as much as I love him.
Would’ve been hilarious to see Sean Bean bust out of a tomb headless, then reach inside the hole, grab it, and stick it on. And you all thought the showrunners wrote some bad stuff.
I swear one of the wights looked like John Cleese, and I immediately started picturing a Nearly Headless Nick coming out to fight.
So opinions, are we getting a “here’s how I did it” scene with Arya or will we never see her perspective?
The Hound picked her up and threw her like a bag of potatoes. This is my headcanon and literally nothing is going to change my mind.
