  1. I have to assume there will be no traditional battle between the golden company and what's left of the north, because Jon and Dany have no army. I hope it's more cloak and daggery.

Send Jaime home to give the word of what happened and discuss the war, and then he can do what everyone knows he has to do.

As someone who has also openly stated that your foray into posting about the show has been confusing at times, but who has also enjoyed discussing and debating things with you at other times, you’ve got to admit that your negative-to-positive ratio is like 10:1

I look for it? I’ve been awake for about a half hour, kinda hanging out in bed until work, and I come in here for the first time since last night and your first comment an hour ago was talking about the “worst part of the episode for you.” That means there’s a chance the first thing you did when you woke up this morning was come here to throw some more shade.

I thought we all agreed this show is dim enough? I’m even with y’all on that one now after last night.

Oh yeah I mean I’ve definitely been ragging on it, but so has everyone else. The amount of things that actually make me angry has gone down tremendously since S5. Posting a joke about Jon and Dany playing Quidditch or Mel pulling a Skywalker doesn’t mean I’m not having fun watching.

That reminds me, I audibly let out an ooOoOooooOoOOo when Dany and Jon flew above the storm to catch their breath and get their vision back, and there was the beautiful silent shot of both dragons diving in the moonlight.

I was hoping for a small, elite White Walker hunting party whose only goal was to kill White Walkers. Thought it would have been cool to see hordes or wights dying abruptly during the battle.

I like this, trying to sneak someone into King's Landing to kill Cersei could be fun

  9. Probably the best shot of the episode.

Also loved the score when the night king was walking through winterfell and approached Bran.

Do we think Cersei puts up a physical fight in the throne room? Anyone think she might just suicide bomb King’s Landing when the time comes? I know she has a baby, but she was willing to take her life and Tommen’s at the battle of Blackwater in the end and also has blown up about 10% of King’s Landing’s population in the citadel.

I didn’t really focus on the fact that no walkers were killed because there was so much chaos in the moment, but that is kind of crazy to think about. They didn’t all go to the woods, right? I feel like we saw some walking up but then nothing happened, but I may be remembering it wrong. Cutting from them to Gilly definitely made me think more would come with her and then specifically. Is she fully aware of who they are?

I saw someone mention it somewhere but I also had a thought that the NK was going to bow to Bran or do something other than kill him until he drew his sword and Arya saved the day. Him being so slow and dramatic was kind of lame.

Rian Johnson throwing that shade is so damn satisfying. The headcanoners are out in full force again with this one.

She could give the "burn them all" order....I just don't know who carries it out.

I am really really interested to see how this is resolved. If Dany left reserves at Dragonstone or Casterly Rock, she might have an army of...what? 2 thousand at most now? Depending on if any Dothraki were left somewhere. Which basically means she'd need Drogon and Rhaegal to Field of Fire Part 3, big time, without getting killed.

I will be so so mad if one of them gets taken out by the scorpion. I was getting so upset last night when Drogon and Rhaegal were getting injured. I thought the wights were about to take Drogon down I was freaking out.

If they go for taking her by force I’m positive she would just go out chugging wine and saying pithy stuff.

But they BETTER do it right and have her think she has won or something and then let Jaime do it. Her whole story has been about family and more specifically how wrong her own view of herself and her family is (just like Tywin), so having her take him for granted only to be killed would be really poetic and super heartbreaking. Plus they’re so good together we just need more scenes of them acting as a pair.

Cinematic shots like that though are confusing. As it cuts away, while he walks up/stares at Bran, it’s showing you what is going on simultaneously with everyone else in the most dire moment of the battle. It’s partially slowed down as well at times, so counting the actual real-time for the scene would likely be inaccurate. Without the suspense build up, the scene would probably be 30 seconds long after Theon died.

I'm still working on one watch (and 5 hours of sleep...couldn't fall asleep and then had dreams lol) but from what I remember none of the White Walkers actually rolled up to Winterfell until the last few minutes when the Night King was making his way towards Bran. And they all just rolled in together with the Night King.

Having them cut through a few red shirts on their way through the castle to the Godswood would have been pretty awesome IMO

Weird, I wonder where they were for the rest of it. Weren’t they at the front of the army at the end of last week? Or was that just perspective and they were farther away?

I’ve come around to like it more after letting it sit for a bit, but I still feel like the final battle being against Cersei is strange. Wasn’t the whole point that the “game of thrones” that they were all playing for most of the show was small potatoes to the grand scheme of the second coming of winter or whatever? And now that’s what it all comes down to in the end. Or maybe they still come to that conclusion once Cersei is beat anyway. We’ll see.

Also the Night King pretty much thinks he's got things sealed up at this point. I think he was taking an extra second or two to take in Bran and realize he was finally going to accomplish his goal of wiping out the Three Eyed Raven, since Bran hadn't passed his powers on to anyone else.

(.......Or, did he? Literally haven't thought about this until just this second, but he does say to Theon that he's leaving now, and then wargs for an exceptionally long amount of time without seemingly accomplishing anything....is it possible he transferred off his 3ER abilities to make sure they stayed alive even if he died?)

Hard for my eyes not to see brown and black forces take a majority of casualties in really bad military strategies.

Sorry Unsullied and Dothraki. You followed the white savior lady to Winterfell to die for a buncha white folks.

They were at the front at the end of Ep 2, but presumably they just sent the Wights in on the charge while they hung back. We really only see them once before they roll into Winterfell, and it's when they're all still sitting on their horses at the edge of the treeline when Jon attempts to take a run at them with Rhaegal.

The White Walkers were all on horses at the tree line in the beginning of the battle. As Jon went to blast them they brought the blizzard wall down on him.

Once the NK raised the dead on the battlefield, those White Walkers were shown walking into the gates of Winterfell, and shortly later, walking behind the Night King.

I’m pretty sure Gilly knows about all there is to know regarding them because of Sam and also having seen one try to kill her.

I'm also hoping they explain where he went when he warged, but I could see them completely ignoring it.

After last night, I'm very curious to see how Martin handles the end of the story (assuming he gets to that point). He's mentioned that the ultimate ending of the show will be somewhat similar to the books, but maybe he just means the final conflict between Cersei and everyone else.

(That really upset me as well but sshhhhh I’m banned from criticism.)

I hope someone gets to talk about their sacrifice from a human perspective and not just in relation to Dany, but I don’t know if they’ll go that direction. She won’t care except for what it means for her army, and Jorah dying is the only thing that made her emotional. At least Grey Worm made it to hopefully be some kind of voice.
