YEah watching him look at his fellow Unsullied realizing he was about to cut them off from the retreat and giving them certain death was tough.

Yeah the dragonglass kills the wights for good too...but damn it would have been cool if they had taken out a couple of White Walkers with them.

I figured they would have put more white walkers there in general. It was assumed that there were roughly 90-95 of them.

What an episode. From a technical standpoint it's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen on-screen, television or movie. The battles in the later seasons makes me wish they could go back and do a larger budget re-shoot of Blackwater just to do it justice. The darkness made it a little hard to follow at times, but I think that was the point. They really captured the chaos and claustrophobia one would experience being there, and it was amazing.

Narrative-wise, I was a little disappointed when they confirmed that the Night King was actually there, instead of headed to King's Landing. Though, judging from the way the battle went, I don't know that anyone would've survived to fight again without his being there to be killed. I loved Arya being the one to kill him, and how she did it using the dagger that started it all and the same move she used while sparring with Brienne last season. I assumed it might be Jon, or even Dany killing him (if they opted to kill him at all, that is), so that was a very nice twist. It also felt completely earned character-wise. There are also considerably more main characters left standing than I'd have guessed there would be, but that doesn't mean the battle was without impact. Dany's massive army is all but gone, and they still have to fight another battle against seemingly-impossible odds. Still, I didn't expect them to completely wipe the NK and his army from the board with three episodes left.

Seriously, why are you still watching this? Why bother? When I got done with the episode last night and came in here, you literally live blogged the episode in here with a negative post about some small nitpick every 10 minutes. It’s insane to live like that and is it just because the show is a big deal to so many that you think it’s cool or edgy to just beat this dead horse so long? We get it, you think the writing is beneath you. We get it, action doesn’t interest you nor do the typical hoops we jump through for this show. But if you’re just gonna do this right up until the end this’ll be the third thread I unsub from in 2 days.

I mean, okay? I’m having fun watching the show and talking about the spectacle, which is the entire reason I started watching and commenting. Seeing different live reactions and who liked what and who didn’t like what is a good time. Is nitpicking only allowed if this is your favorite show of all time? I didn’t even say the most negative things in the thread or question most of the narrative decisions in this one. My main problem was that the visuals were too hard to make out and the editing too chaotic, and I’m clearly not alone in that. Not everything has to be bending over backwards in love to have value, and the memes are fun.

Yeah, I don't get comparing the two episodes. Yeah, it's the same show, but both episodes serves their purpose and are both done extremely well.

It wasn’t that you said the MOST negative things, but I’m pretty sure you saying something was fun on the last page was the first positive thing I’ve seen you say really in a long time in here. Up until that, it hasn’t seemed like you’ve enjoyed one single aspect of your run through with the series.

I thought it was an alright episode. Some high highs and some low lows. I am bummed the NK is dead already because the biggest draw to me was the overlying mystery of him and his buddies and whatever the hell Bran is, even if that isn't the "point" of the show. I'm sure we'll find out what he was doing when he warged to the raven, at least I hope we do.

I literally said something was amazing in the post you quoted?? I’m pretty sure you’re just looking for negativity for the sake of it. I’ve been very clear about who I care about and what I enjoy and giving it credit when they nail something.

  12. I have to assume there will be no traditional battle between the golden company and what's left of the north, because Jon and Dany have no army. I hope it's more cloak and daggery.

Send Jaime home to give the word of what happened and discuss the war, and then he can do what everyone knows he has to do.

As someone who has also openly stated that your foray into posting about the show has been confusing at times, but who has also enjoyed discussing and debating things with you at other times, you’ve got to admit that your negative-to-positive ratio is like 10:1

I look for it? I’ve been awake for about a half hour, kinda hanging out in bed until work, and I come in here for the first time since last night and your first comment an hour ago was talking about the “worst part of the episode for you.” That means there’s a chance the first thing you did when you woke up this morning was come here to throw some more shade.

I thought we all agreed this show is dim enough? I’m even with y’all on that one now after last night.

Oh yeah I mean I’ve definitely been ragging on it, but so has everyone else. The amount of things that actually make me angry has gone down tremendously since S5. Posting a joke about Jon and Dany playing Quidditch or Mel pulling a Skywalker doesn’t mean I’m not having fun watching.

That reminds me, I audibly let out an ooOoOooooOoOOo when Dany and Jon flew above the storm to catch their breath and get their vision back, and there was the beautiful silent shot of both dragons diving in the moonlight.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

I was hoping for a small, elite White Walker hunting party whose only goal was to kill White Walkers. Thought it would have been cool to see hordes or wights dying abruptly during the battle.

I like this, trying to sneak someone into King's Landing to kill Cersei could be fun

  20. Probably the best shot of the episode.

Also loved the score when the night king was walking through winterfell and approached Bran.

Do we think Cersei puts up a physical fight in the throne room? Anyone think she might just suicide bomb King’s Landing when the time comes? I know she has a baby, but she was willing to take her life and Tommen’s at the battle of Blackwater in the end and also has blown up about 10% of King’s Landing’s population in the citadel.

I didn’t really focus on the fact that no walkers were killed because there was so much chaos in the moment, but that is kind of crazy to think about. They didn’t all go to the woods, right? I feel like we saw some walking up but then nothing happened, but I may be remembering it wrong. Cutting from them to Gilly definitely made me think more would come with her and then specifically. Is she fully aware of who they are?

I saw someone mention it somewhere but I also had a thought that the NK was going to bow to Bran or do something other than kill him until he drew his sword and Arya saved the day. Him being so slow and dramatic was kind of lame.

Rian Johnson throwing that shade is so damn satisfying. The headcanoners are out in full force again with this one.

She could give the "burn them all" order....I just don't know who carries it out.

I am really really interested to see how this is resolved. If Dany left reserves at Dragonstone or Casterly Rock, she might have an army of...what? 2 thousand at most now? Depending on if any Dothraki were left somewhere. Which basically means she'd need Drogon and Rhaegal to Field of Fire Part 3, big time, without getting killed.

I will be so so mad if one of them gets taken out by the scorpion. I was getting so upset last night when Drogon and Rhaegal were getting injured. I thought the wights were about to take Drogon down I was freaking out.
