The only other thing I want them to even touch on is the mark on Bran. Is it gone? Does it stay forever? Other than that, move along the plot.
I don’t *actually* believe this, but the whole Dothraki strategy was so bad that it’s easier for me to believe it was a side strategy hatched by the Westerosi to weaken Dany’s army in case they survived the fight. That honestly makes more sense to me than having them just go up the gut for no damn reason.
I have a ton of thoughts and they’re probably beyond GoT and more about my problem with must-watch TV in general and it’s not the time to post them so I’ll just say: I enjoyed watching this without being impressed by the writing, which will probably also be my line on the show once it’s finished.
just watched it again, a few more thoughts: 1. That fucking metronome/clicking in the soundtrack when they are fighting on the ramparts was such a nice touch. Really amps the intensity and made me anxious without even noticing it. 2. I'm thinking we're gonna learn more about where Bran went in the next few episodes, and it's gonna explain a lot. 3. Melisandre = Jaqen H'ghar = Syrio Forel??? I half expected Mel to pull her face off and reveal herself lol 4. A detail I noticed the second time, when the ice dragon got its neck torn up by Drogon and then it landed in the castle grounds you can see it quite literally bleeding icy fire through the holes in its neck while its shoots ice willy-nilly everywhere. 5. Arya killing the NK using the same move that Rey used against one of Snoke's red guards was kinda cool. And a silly theory. Bran obviously warged into a dragon, used him to go pick up Arya, and then drop Arya into the godswood like an air strike.
Just finished most of it again (skipped the beginning) The Theon part got me a lot more on a rewatch. What a journey for that character.
Jon not being the savior and building this perfectly to have been Arya without ignoring a single detail from previous seasons has me so happy. For us, and for the character. Everything we watched regarding the Faceless men feels rectified.
ARYA FUCKING RULES. Holy shit, I've never actually shouted "OH SHIT" at my TV before but I literally jumped up to my feet and did that. I don't care what anyone else says, the Night King's death could not have been better for me as a huge fan of Arya I can't believe this episode actually lived up to the hype for me but it did. My heart was pounding the entire time, and although I'm suprised less people died than we thought (thought we'd see the last of Brienne, Tormund, Podrick, Grey Worm/Missandei, maybe even Ghost), I sure didn't mind lol. After all some people still have to die in the battle against Cersei Haven't really seen anyone talk about these scenes yet but the scene with Arya in the library was incredibly intense and well-done, and I genuinely feared for her life there, and during the part where Sansa and Tyrion are hiding behind the tomb and that dramatic music started I was absolutely convinced we were about to see their shocking deaths, I'm so glad they lived through that Goddamn this shit was incredible
This episode is a bit like Infinity War... (possible Endgame spoilers --->) everyone expected deaths of major characters and it didn't happen. So, if Endgame is anything to go by, big character deaths are still to come and will probably hurt more
It was so much brighter watching through the Now app on my iPad than when I do the Now app through the fire stick. I actually saw everything.
So this makes at least 3 times in just the last few seasons that Jon Snow should've died Leeroy Jenkins style but he was saved by a much smarter woman. They've gotta stop letting him lead these armies! I bet the Dothraki charging into the darkness without even having proper weapons was all Jon's idea.
