He is the memory of human life/history in Westoros and if the Night King kills him along with everyone else it will be forgotten. He will rule an earth of undead. The previous 3ER was very old and couldn't leave where he was, so Bran was chosen to assume the mantle after him. This was why he was led to him, spent time "training", etc etc. The Night King has wanted revenge on humanity ever since the Children of the First Men did what they did to him.
If you say so, idk that’s the first thing I thought of and already saw a lot of similarities prior to the new episode. Not a big fantasy guy though at the end of the day.
I wasn't bothered by that scene. They didn't show any frontal nudity and in the situation they were in it made sense. I can see why others were uncomfortable, to some she is still a little kid.
I mistakenly typed "age of consent westeros" into my google machine Minimum marriage age and age of consent in Westeros Lord Varys appears to be the expert on the topic
Whaaaat I loved that aspect of it. Kinda like an "It Follows" scenario and also the consequence of Bran not listening to the 3ER and being reckless.
The age of everyone in the books is SO gross. Like the show gets no points ever, but at least they aren’t making the scenes happen to 13 year olds.
Again, the taboo in Harry Potter is completely different from this. One is a spell that gives away the location of a person by saying a specific name. The other is like a literal GPS chip for your dog.
Glad I’m not the only one lol it totally felt like a cop out to me but I just watch this show passively
Yeah like the mark was how the Night King was able to kill the Three-Eyed Raven. This has been a thing since then. I don’t remember it being a point of criticism at that time.
The connection would be Voldemort to Harry through his scar, not the name thing. Although it’s also kind of a LOTR/standard fantasy trope, so it doesn’t seem like a ripoff and more just lots of works using the same idea.
But even the connection between Harry and Voldemort in relation to Harry being a Horcrux seems way different from this. And Voldemort never really seemed to realize the full power of that connection—only Harry really ever took advantage of it in the final book when he's able to see where Voldemort was in his travels abroad to find Gregorovich/checking on his other Horcruxes after the break-in at Gringotts. I suppose Voldemort could have used the connection to see where Harry was but Harry was always too heavily guarded at Hogwarts, the Dursleys, or the Weasleys, but then why wouldn't he use the connection himself to track Harry while he's out camping in the woods? He doesn't even use it to track Harry to Godric's Hollow—that was Nagini in her Bathilda costume. I think Dumbledore does mention early in HBP that Voldemort had started to use Occlemency against Harry to try to limit the connection, but Voldemort only ever really used that connection personally to plant fake imagery in Harry's head. Bran essentially has a GPS signal coming out of his arm right now. The connection between Harry and Voldemort was much more internal. (The taboo was more of a GPS thing like Bran's mark, but the way in which it was essentially turned on worked in a completely different way.) But yeah, like you said, this isn't a trope unique to HP or Thrones. It's been done in countless other stories and is a pretty standard fantasy trope. And because of that, it's weird to me that HP would be the first story to compare it to, rather than something like LotR.
I never liked the theory because I felt it’s more significant this reveal only happens to ONE character. Makes it more special. In my most recent watch I tried looking for any clues and they are approximately zero: 1. His last conversation with Tywin 2. His positive interaction with the dragons when they were locked away ......that was it. If you look back to all the hints for Jon before season 6 episode 10, I’m sure you could fill a list of 15-20 hints. And plus, who the hell would have been the father in the context of the show? We gonna throw Aemon in there just cause lol. I agree, I’m thinking it’s out.
Lol if they're going that route they better get on that reveal cause we are running out of time here.
episode was pretty good. Couldn't help but feel like every scene was: character(s) doing something, another character(s) enter, they have a cute moment, repeat with another group of people. The moments themselves were mostly all very good, and I guess this is what we want with some of these characters meeting for the first time in a while/ever, just felt kinda off. Also Theon could not be more dead Also they mentioned how safe the crypts were like 6 times so RIP everyone down there probably
yes! Hollywood sexualizes young people and I’m not denying the double standard that people get outraged about sex and don’t give a shit about hyperviolence, but I think there’s an approach to that scene that leaves more implied, just knowing that this is someone we met when she was 12.
Also there’s a reason Game of Thrones hasn’t asked many freshly 18-21 year old male actors to take their clothes off
