Wasn’t Edmure supposed to be shipped to Casterly Rock? Either way, I assume we’ll find out once he action turns south
Missandei and Grey Worm is one of my fav romances in anything of recent memory, i need them to have their beach trip
Haha I don't think I could like it less to be honest. Every time they come on screen I just shake my head until it's over for the most part
Spoiler alert for Grey Worm: if you take Missandei back to Naath, you’re going to spasm and then sweat blood so uhhhhhh don’t do it
Also, neither of them planned to surround or be surrounded and I'm no military expert but that seems like an oversight on both parties
I’ll talk about this more later but I think Brienne lives. I’m actually starting to lean towards more people surviving then I was originally thinking
I think Brienne is at the top of the "A-List characters who will die at the Battle for Winterfell" heap. I think Theon is another easy choice for an A-list character death, sacrificing himself to protect Bran in the Godswood. Beric Dondarrion will also probably die. Wouldn't be surprised if Tormund did as well. Jorah and Gendry could go either way. I'm hoping Davos makes it out (he was always one of my favorite characters in both the books and the show) but he has a shot at dying too I think. The Hound, Jaime, Sansa, Tyrion, Arya, Jon, and Daenerys are all clearly going to survive. I think Bran survives as well.
Theon coming back to protect a Stark (especially Bran) brings him back full circle so I kinda expect him to die. Jorah is gone as fuck. I do think they might end up killing Missandei over Grey Worm.
Jorah is completely cured of greyscale right? For so long I was like he definitely has to die in the battle because hes a dead man walking anyway but then completely forgot Sam saved him. I still think Jorah is gonna R I P next week though.
What are everyone's thoughts on the battle next this weekend not resolving the White Walker conflict? Like, I'm wondering if the battle just becomes too hopeless and the survivors somehow retreat to King's Landing for the real final battle. I've mostly felt up to now that this almost has to be the end of the White Walker threat so that the final three episodes can be about the resolution of the actual, you know, Game of Thrones, but I'm not really as sure about that as I once was.
As soon as Theon left Yara in Ep1 I turned to my fiancee and said "his story arc is almost over, he will come full circle from pretending to kill Bran to giving his life to save Bran"
It's the calm before the storm! Let the characters enjoy one last night of hanging out before it all goes to hell. I thought the same thing. Everyone was so quick to defend Jamie but no one thought to say "dude, your dad had it coming. You know....trying to kill everyone with wild fire...."
I thought this for a split second - like theres only enough survivors to fit on the two dragons and everyone peaces the fuck out, but it would take the walkers like 2 more months to get down to KL, i know this show has had terrible sense of travel and passing of time but, for sake of travel time i dont see that as whats gonna happen. anything could though i guess hah.
my assumption is the WWs are defeated next week but NK and maybe a few of his entourage still live and will eventually face off in an epic dragon battle in KL. I don't think NK dies next week. Wouldnt be surprised if we don't even see him honestly.
See, this kind of feeds into my longstanding wish that they hadn't done these two shortened seasons to end the show with. Last season had seven episodes, they could have tacked these three onto it and ended with the Battle for Winterfell, then had a final season that resolved the rest of the conflicts. Would've made the entirety of the previous season about the White Walkers as well, as opposed to those seven and also the first three of these being about the Walkers and then the final three episodes of the entire series shifting focus back to the Iron Throne.
I know they have a lot of time to work with still but I feel like some part of the plot is getting the short end of the stick. We could possibly see the NK die in the next two episodes (which actually feels weird to say) so they can wrap up the throne aspect + this Jon/Dany thing. I wanted the NK to send his army to Winterfell and fly the dragon to KL but I feel like by doing that we’d get robbed of seeing Tyrion or Jaime (whoever) get revenge or be the one to take out Cersei. We’d also probably get robbed of Hound vs Mountain. I do think Bronn shows up (maybe some of the Golden Company as well) at Winterfell during this battle. GC just gets exterminated by bad timing and Bronn basically says “fuck this”
