Not that I can’t think of off the top of my head, mostly just book lore. But I’m also not always great at recognizing foreshadowing if it’s not super obvious haha. He was a friend and companion to Dany’s great grandfather (grandfather in the show) and Maester Aemon’s brother, Aegon V Targaryen. Ser Duncan became the lord commander of the kings guard for him and died at the Tragedy of Summerhall along with Aegon and (this is the only tie in with tonight’s episode that I can think of off the top of my head) Aegon’s oldest son, Duncan Targaryen, who renounced his claims to the throne because he fell in love with and married...Jenny of Oldstones, who also died at Summerhall (or so it is claimed, others think she survived and is currently a minor character in the books)
Bran has still yet to say his whole "Everything you did brought you where you are now. Where you belong. Home." from the first S8 trailer. Guessing he says it to Theon in the next episode.
Really like how this was one last "light-hearted" (for this show) episode with all the characters getting to interact before most of them die next week lol. I agree with most of the guesses for who will die, particularly Theon, Jorah and Brienne, and I'm hoping not but most likely Tormund, Edd and Davos I'm actually not quite sure about Grey Worm, I think they might do a fakeout and kill Missandei instead, especially since she's gonna be down in the crypt
Someone mentioned Dany being the mad queen a few pages back and she's def going off the rails a bit. She has that convo with sansa about Jon manipulating her, and then during Jon's reveal she thinks it's convenient that he learned from his brother and best friend. She is angry with sansa for saying the north won't yield to another ruler. Ten seconds later the look of shock when theon wants to fight for sansa. Her needing to be talked off a ledge regarding Tyrion Also, no one questions bran in the war room about anything he says. They all think it's reasonable the night king touched him and knows where he is at all times and has all the memories of the world. But Dany can't accept he knows the truth about Jon lol.
Eh. The world is about to end. Arya wanting to experience that makes sense. Didn’t feel fan servicey to me considering they had an emotional connection they talked about in season 2. Also. It’s as if popular opinion has determined that all GoT sex scenes are bad. So now you have to battle off people once there is a good one, because they aren’t even sure. Just doing what they’ve been told.
I truly don’t know who’s going to die next week. They kind of made it seem like they all are. If we assume the White Walker threat ends next week, the most interesting thing narratively would be for both Sam and Bran die, so only Jon, Dany, and (after the offscreen Bran convo) Tyrion know who has the true claim.
Mentioning that Gendry is a Baratheon also wasn’t an accident. Arya getting pregnant but Gendry dying would be an interesting twist in setting up the new world where each of the seven houses is run by someone who broke the wheel, so to speak.
Also I got a new car last month and named her Brienne of Carth and now I’m very excited to add Ser to it.
It would be very apt for the surviving world to be ruled by “the bastards and the broken,” so to speak. Using broken very lightly here so don’t read more into it than I mean please it’s a turn of phrase Winterfell - Sansa Storm’s End - Gendry and Arya King’s Landing - Jon Casterly Rock - Tyrion Dorne- idk let’s give it to Bronn Iron Born - Yara/Theon etc
I also kind of figured/hoped something like this would happen. This is like the happy/hopeful ending.
