That whole scene was riding on him and he nailed it.

Also just rewatched Queen’s Justice. God damn I love it. Cersei is the absolute best. I’ll be genuinely sad when she dies ... however I’m hoping it happens episode 6. And by Arya.

 

The switching back and forth between him struggling on the ground, adult Hodor looking terrified, and the fucking perfect score accompanying the scene was just too much. Usually when I tear up at movies/tv shows it's just some tears and I can hold it together..but when the screen went black I went into like 10 seconds of full on cry mode.

 

I saw some videos on YouTube comparing the actors real accents with their show accents and it’s pretty crazy to me as an American. It’s like why do they use an accent when they already have an accent. But then I stop and think about how Americans have different accents too

I don't really think any of the main 5 will die before the final episode except for maybe Jaime, who I think is the only character that's 100% going to die

I’m on track to finish up tomorrow. I’m surprised I was actually able to make it with time to spare, and now I’m excited to see all the reactions in real time.

All my favorites being smaller characters does not make me feel secure though. I especially have to curse Davos for making me care so much.

 

i almost feel like Davos is just as safe as Tyrion, not sure why. probably just blind hope.

 

i fucking love this series and am so bummed it’s gonna have to end. i give it a pass in a lot of its weaker areas because it is serialized high fantasy and i want more of that always. glad we will have Amazon’s LotR and Wheel of Time as well as any GoT spin offs to fill the void for (hopefully) years to come. gonna be a golden age.

 

I can't imagine they turn the finale into a VH1 - Where Are They Now? episode.

I think it comes down to how much they want to give fans what they want and how much they want to end the story in the most realistic way. Their past cruelty worries me, but the lack of major death in 7 also gives me some hope. Or if they know that people like Davos and Brienne and Varys are so well loved that they can throw the audience a bone by them living in order to kill off someone huge.

 

I really want LOTR to be good. My dad would be stoked.

 

I think Sam is safer than Tyrion, but them and Gilly are the only main characters I feel pretty confident will survive

I'm seeing a nice Potluck in Winterfell.

 

Winter only lasts a few months and everything goes back to normal

 

Even with my limited knowledge, I feel like an ending with someone specific “winning” and it being just accepted that everything is fine now would go against the entire message of the series. Or at least the original message. They seem to have done away with a lot of the “violence begets violence” and “people ruin everything” aspects in the recent seasons.

I don’t think they would have humanity destroyed just for the fan reaction. Maybe if this was still a niche series, but it’s too big to do anything unsafe now.
