Does the Godfather count as an adaptation?

    Of course!

I’m trying to think of some other shows, specifically ones from really great sources. Movies are much easier for every level of quality.

Well I guess there’s Sherlock, but it’s much looser than most of these examples and the last season was trash. Early on it captured the spirit super well though.

Ooooooooh my goooooood Max von Sydow!!! A god amongst men.

It’s absolutely cruel to partner one of the worst actors on the show next to one of the greatest actors of all time.

He can’t act his way out of Hodor’s pack.

It’s such a blessing that the story for the character was destined to be weird and emotionless because that’s all he could do from season 1.

I know a guy who looks like a slightly older and bearded Bran, so I can't help but love the little guy.

Yeah I mean the character is absolutely tragic, but he’s still just bad. They sadly didn’t get as lucky with their child actors as some other shows.

I actually don’t think he’s that bad, I think puberty hit his voice and made him sound super monotone.

Here’s my complaint and its me being petty: We see at least three scenes of major characters sharpening swords, and they’re all Valyrian steel swords, but I’m pretty sure in the books it is said that you don’t need a whetstone for Valyrian steel because it keeps its edge. Boo!

This is the strangest reaction to being brought back from the dead I have ever seen.

And now poor Bran is just an exposition machine.

Aaaaaaaand they did Sean Bean so dirty with that actor playing young Ned. Oof.

Really it's the pearl clutching around not watching it that drives me up the wall, not saying GoT is for everyone... it absolutely isn't but the moralization of media consumption that has cropped up the last few years is insufferable
