The Leftovers book is about Mad Men?

 

Oh, I’m fine with it being single people who reel me in. I guess that’s Davos now that my girl is gone. I like Brienne a lot even if her story doesn’t make the most sense. If Jaime continues his redemption that would be good for me. Varys is fun but he just flirts in and out so much it’s hard to be invested. I’ll have to think if there’s anyone else I really care about at this point.

I do really, really, really love The Leftovers though

 

I havent seen the leftovers or the americans.

 

Def check out The Leftovers. The first season is pretty fucking bleak but I still love it, and Season 2 and 3 are def on par with Season 3 and 4 of GOT in terms of just sheer goodness.

 

WATCH THE AMERICANS GAH. I was late to the game on it and I’m forever changed now. They manage to actually portray a LOT of the tropes that GOT fails at in a really nuanced and justified way. It’s stupid good.

The Leftovers is next on my list and I have very high hopes just from this forum.

 

It's up there on my list haha. Gonna finish Mad Men then do Sabrina and Queer Eye.

 

You are going to love The Leftovers I think.

Start the Leftovers ASAP and if you feel inclined, post your thoughts in the Leftovers thread. Everyone loses their fucking mind whenever someone starts a watch through for the first time. We're very passionate lol

 

I’m really looking forward to it. Had to give it some time after The Americans so I’m not comparing the quality unintentionally and can judge it totally on its own. I think binging GOT has been a worthy break in that way, ha.

 

And try to avoid any spoilers if possible. There is some stuff in Season 2 that you will want to go in fresh for.

 

The Leftovers and The Americans are both shows that I think I only missed because I was having a really rough time when they started and didn’t hear much about new shows. They are both soooo up my alley and I have no idea how I missed the boat unless it was for that reason.

 

I’m in six now and so far it’s mostly High Sparrow and Dorne again. I feel like I’ve walked into a trap.

I forgot that I do care about Cersei a bit too. Especially after that travesty they forced her into at the end.

 

High Sparrow story actually ends up with a good payoff for as long and plodding as it is. Leads to one of the best uses of music in a scene.
