Jaime fighting Ned in s1 vaguely parallels young Ned fighting Arthur Dayne in Bran's flashback. The only reason Jaime and young Ned won was because someone stabbed their opponent from behind, and both were visibly upset that *that* was the only reason they won

 

Fell behind on my rewatch last week, just finishing 3 today.

 

I loved Jaime looking/seeming surprised that Ned was a better fighter than he was expecting him to be.

 

plus he had that bigass two-handed Valyrian steel sword

 

About to rewatch Mothers Mercy. I remember when it came out reacting to the ending by yelling at the tv “this is the worst show ever wtf!!” Oh how far we’ve come.

 

Ned doesn’t fight with Ice though, he mostly just uses it for executions because it’s too big to weild haha

 

Brienne calling Renly the rightful king is the most annoying thing she has ever done.

Most funny lines just get a light “hah” out of me but this was so unexpected and deadpan that I almost did a spit take
