I saw something on Twitter about Maisie accidentally giving out a spoiler on a late night show. Didn't watch the video, for obvious reasons, but does anyone know if this was an actual slip up or is it just a click-bait headline? Edit: Just making the connection that yesterday was April Fools so I'm guessing that might be what it was...
That's def part of it, not fully realizing there were weapons out there that could kill them. They made a big deal of showing the Night King's reaction to Jon killing one of his soldiers with the valyrian steel blade, as if he was realizing "oh...okay, we gotta watch out for that huh"
I just watched it, it's a corny Jimmy Fallon joke....but they actually do a really good job pulling it off lol
I still personally think s5 is the only dip in quality, and on my recent rewatch I thought it was much better than I remember. Tho still a huge dip compared to the almost perfect s4. S6 has some weird stuff, but all the payoffs are great. On s7 right now, and I’ve only seen it once when it first aired. I remember loving it. Esp all the worlds/characters colliding.
Yeah I wasn’t looking forward to season 5 but then somehow that was the one I watched the fastest. Definitely better than I remembered
I cannot even remember there ever really being a drop in quality, but that could have been partially because I binged through most of the show when I first saw it and also because of how this show is structured. It seems like there are plot lines I like and dislike weaving in and out of the show at all times, so it makes it hard to say one whole season was worse than others. That said, this most recent season was the only one that felt different to me. Much faster, some of the plot lines seemed much more convenient, writing was a little sloppier, etc. but it was still a good watch.
season 5 was a bummer when we were waiting on a weekly drip of it, but it’s totally bingeable. eps 8 and 9 are total bangers
Was it season five or six that felt like they were stalling and not ready to commit to going past the books entirely yet?
Ending of s5 was the last plot that caught up with the books, except for a tiny bit of Bran’s and Arya’s, which were mostly altered anyway
I lost interest in watching this show live when season 5 was airing, and then only got back into it after season 7 I believe. Excited to get to 5 on my rewatch and see how it compares now
Emilia is playing this Second Sons episode suuuuuuper strangely. Her expressions and reactions are baffling. Also I guess the first Daario is here now so that’s fun.
Just bought the Night's Watch Adidas Ultraboost shoes over the weekend. They got my ass with that GoT collaboration lol.
Why isn’t this whole season just Davos learning to read? Also why is this the second season in a row where a tiny girl hanging with a dashing old man is the best storyline??
1,000,000% my favorite thing in all of GoT is them two together. She is so sweet and his embarrassment but willingness to learn how to read is so touching it's ridiculous. Easily the best thing in the whole series.
Totally missed in the 3rd season Bran telling the story of the rat cook who was punished for killing a guest beneath his roof by being turned into a rat forced to only eat his young.. very neat foreshadowing.
Knowing Jon's actual background, in basically every Ned/Robert scene in s1 Ned is incredibly bad at lying to Robert about it lol
Yeah and you can write it off as just guilt because he's otherwise so loyal and principled. I imagine some of the cast had already read the books but for those that hadn't I wonder how much information they give out about future events. Like telling Harrington about Jon's background would probably affect how he approached certain scenes
I imagine Gwendoline Christie read the books. Maybe that's just the image I have in my head but she nails the subtleties of Brienne from the books.
The smaller characters are making this season for sure. I still only care about a couple of the “main” ones but unlike 1 and 2 I’m invested in the bigger group.
