I had never seen Iain Glen in anything else and I just watched an interview with him and holy shit his regular voice is so far off from Jorah’s. Afaik everyone else just changes their accent, not the tone. Also is Peter Dinklage the only American on the show? The only actors I know of who aren’t from the UK are from continental Europe
The context of AFfC also makes it incredibly disappointing. There were so many huge moments in A Storm of Swords, and it ends with Tyrion escaping and Jon Snow being nominated Lord Commander and Bran finally making it past the wall. Then five years go by until the next book and that stuff isn’t touched on at all but now we have to read about all this internal politicking in the Iron Islands and Dorne with completely new characters? Absolutely infuriating lol
Doesn't help that all of the more interesting characters (Tyrion, Dany, Jon) are only in the 5th book while in AFfC you have Samwell and Brienne lol
I would definitely say cover the obvious things like the house sigils and the house mottos (not the common sayings like “Lannisters always pay their debts”). Also the name of the swords of each house (Longclaw, Widows Wail) This trivia asked a lot of that stuff but about the more obscure houses. They also asked about nicknames (What are Brynden Tully, Sir Aurthur Dayne, and Brynden Rivers also respectively known as?) Also, what are the four musical cameos throughout the show? It was tough.
are we spoiler tagging stuff in here for people who haven't caught up? Just in case: damn I get emotional every time there is a reunion between Stark children. Sansa's hugging Bran last season got me all teary-eyed.
I've been trying to do so just in case I cannot wait for the Jon/Arya and Jon/Bran reunions. I hope Bran's mind has cleared up a little bit and he's not as much of a psycho and can feel a little something. Sometimes it makes me hurt that Robb doesn't get to see his brothers or sisters again. And really beyond that, there's so many possible reunions I'm looking forward to. Hound/Brienne (again), Brienne/Tormund, Arya/Hound, Jaime/Brienne, Tyrion/Sansa, etc/
I’m most excited for Arya taking down a white walker or two. They weren’t that subtle last season about giving her that Valyrian steel dagger lol
What are the odds that Bran somehow does a sort of sacrifice maneuver to take down the Night King? When he's talking about the dagger and gives it to Arya, he says "It was meant to kill me". Obviously he was referring to when he was in a coma and the assassin was paid to kill him but....maybe it ends up having more meaning than that.
I came across one of the Game of Thrones beers (Queen of the Seven Kingdoms) last night while grocery shopping. My girlfriend told me to buy a couple (one for last night and one for the premiere, I guess). Yeah, it was so delicious that we drank both bottles immediately.
The extent of Bran’s powers have never been clear to me. If he can warg into Hodor then there’s at least some chance he could warg into any other person. But also if that and being basically omniscient are the extent of what he’s able to do then for all the build up that seems underwhelming compared to the other magic we’ve seen in the show.
Having just finished "The Door" on my rewatch, I forgot he was able to warg into Hodor in the present while simultaneously being in the past.
Pretty sure I’ve said this a million times but that reminds me how when I first started watching I thought Casterly Rock was actually them pronouncing Castle Rock as Castull E Rock.
Season 4, episode 4. Littlefinger to Sansa: "Always keep your foes confused. If they don't know who you are or what you want, they can't know what you plan to do next." She got him there in the end.
