Just finished the mountain and the viper. During season 2 I didn’t want to go on. Now I don’t want to stop watching
Man. I can't believe that in 2009 I was sitting at my part-time job as a desk manager at a sophomore girl's dorm at my private Christian university in west Texas reading the wikipedia article about the books being made into a show. And now look where we are.
Man season 5 is really not good. It’s the Feast for Crows of the show. Way too many storylines that just struggle to get characters in a more important position: •All the Jaime and Cersei stuff is just to have the other kids die so Cersei gains full control. Obviously they ruined Dorne, and the High Sparrow stuff is tedious. •Arya gets to the House of Black and White but doesn’t get to do anything crazy or interesting like she does in s6 •Jon spends a whole season just trying to get the wildlings across the wall •Stannis hangs around Castle Black for half the season for no reason, then goes and loses •Dany tries to rule for once and also deal with the Sons of the Harpy, which is an interesting little story in itself but again it just feels like they’re stalling until Tyrion gets there and then by s6 everyone seems to forget about it Sansa’s plot in Winterfell with the Boltons is engaging but also really sad, and also Brienne and Pod just stalk her the whole season and don’t end up doing much at all.
Excited to finally finish my rewatch because I had to stop due to stupid laptop problems. Got the day off tomorrow, gonna get a bunch of unhealthy snacks and become one with my television and bed
Cutting from Michelle Fairley doing maybe the single greatest bit of acting in the show so far to Kit pouting in the snow is just not fair to the poor kid. Also yeessssss Diana Rigg is finally here.
I wish Michelle Fairley would have stuck around much longer than she did. She was one of my favorites.
She’s on another level for sure. I’m sure it’s unavoidable in a cast this big, but there are a handful of people who really shine a light on how bad a lot of the others are.
One of my best friends is obsessed with GoT, and was part of why I even tried it in the first place, and she hates Catelyn Stark and I don't understand why. I ask her and she just looks disgusted, lol
Television acting, yeah. He co-founded/acts with a traveling theater troupe now. King Joffrey Is Coming. But Only to Act in a Play.
I feel like I remember hearing that he would be confronted by idiots who conflate his character and him in real life and were disrespectful and treated him like shit.
I can’t even fathom that. Is it like a Skyler White Effect kind of thing? She’s such an interesting character.
I really have no idea, haha. Her favorite characters are Arya and Cersei though and they're both bad ass, so that's good.
that’s a bummer. it’s a masterful performance for anyone regardless of age and he seems to have a real good head on his shoulders in behind the scenes stuff. re: Joffrey
In early S1 i didnt like Catelyn bc she was mean to Jon and it aint that boys fault but i got over it and i think in her short time shes still a top tier character in terms of her performance.
I didn't even know his name for the longest time. My co-worker got irritated with me one time because she asked "Has Jack Gleeson been in anything else lately?" I was like "Um you mean other than The Honeymooners? Pretty sure he died in like the 80s..."
I really enjoyed reading AFfC because it fleshed out stories that the show dismisses. But I can't imagine the disappointing when it first came out.
